And now... The answers!

I noticed that I've been asked really more questions that the ones I could Imagine, so I'll try to answer to all the most asked ones, please don't get angry at me :D

-When did you start your blog and why? My blog was born in October 2009, I started to feel the need to build a place which could be only mine and really customizable where I could express myself. I used to upload my photos on another website, flickr ,in which I already had a lot of followers, and It's probably because of the "importance" I got there that my blog was successfull since the beginning.

-Why is the blog called this way? My blog is not only a fashion blog, but It really is a salad of everything about me: you can find here my outfits, my videos, my family, my boyfriend, my friends, my travels, my passions. I try to share everything I appreciate in life, with the intention of making you part of all this

-Who takes the photos? It depends. Most of the outdoor photos are taken by my boyfriend and sometimes by my friends, while the indoor ones are usually taken by myself with tripod and remote controller.

-What camera do you use? I use my Nikon D90 that I really like, and I recently added an external flash and a 50 mm f 1.8 lens

-How old are you? At the moment I'm 22, I was born on the 7th May 1987 (remember to wish me happy birthday :D ), my sign of the zodiac is Taurus!

-What do you study? Where? I study law at Bocconi in Milan, I now am at the 4th year and next year I should be able to graduate on time. I'm really interested in international law, even If it's a completely different path from the one I'm building up with my blog. I'll see what I can do :D

-What would you like to do when you finish university? I have no ideas yet, If i decide to work in the law area my dream would be to work for some international organization. If the fashion area will be more interesting I'll be glad to follow my biggest passion

-Why have you never thought about studying fashion? I've always thought about fashion as a passion more that a real job for me, and I've always "played" with it without studying. I'm starting now to buy the first history of fashion books to be able to have a better background :)

-What highschool did you go to? I attended "liceo classico" in Cremona, where subjects like Latin and ancient Greek are teached.

-How long have you lived in Milan? I lived in Cremona until I was 19, when I finished high school. I moved to Milano then to start university, even If I already knew the city kinda well because I used to go there for work or thanks to friendships and old love stories.

-Who inspired you in the world of fashion and photography? My mum for sure, she's always inspired me since I was a kid making me walking in the direction of fashion and shooting my sisters and I thousands of photos. As a kid I couldn't appreciate the idea of posing for her portraits but growing up I understood how what she did was beautiful and important. Now my mum usually publishes her photos on her flickr profile

-Are you 100% italian? Yes, both my parents and their families are italian. I litterally love Italy and I'm proud to be italian, even If i think that abroad is easier to be successful and to have big job satisfactions.

-How tall are you and what's your weight? I'm 1, 77 m tall and my weight is about 55, 56 kg. Don't take my weight as a model one anyway, I of course am an exception because I'm lucky to be able to eat a lot without gaining weight, each of us is different about his/her body

- How do you keep yourself thin? Do you play any sports? I love sports but spending most of my time in Milan I'm not able to practice it a lot, I'm very lucky to have a nice body that doesn't get "bigger" even If i eat a lot, I've never been on a diet in my entire life. Until highschool I've played basketball first in a mixed team and then in a girls' one, basketball is one of my favourite sports and probably the one I'm better at. I also love skiing during winter and swimming and running in summer.

-What about your skin? My skin is everything but perfect and it's one of my weak spot. I try to care about it washing it twice a day and using a face cream by Clinique, I also wear only a bit of makeup, but sometimes I have imperfections. In the past I used to try Uv lamps but now I don't anymore: they make your skin better but they also make it older.

-What about your hair? My natural colour is a very dark blonde, almost ginger. I started to "use" highlights four years ago to make my hair lighter and I like the result, even if in these days I'm thinking about getting my natural colour back. I've never dyed it, I'm trying to make it grow longer and I only cut it once every 3 or 4 monts. I also use some natural oil to make it softer after the shower and I should start using some kind of natural masks. If i don't comb it my hair is curly, when I straighten it I only use the hairdrier and nothing else to ruin it as less as possible

-Did you work or still work as a model? At the age of 16 I've been chosen by Beatrice Models agency in Milan and I worked with them for some years. I stopped because I found other inspirations, other goals to reach in my life. University is for me very important and I dedicate most of my time to the study, even if my blog is getting day by day an important part of my life
and (I hope) of my future. I sometimes still work as a model in a showroom or with some collaborations, which now are usually linked to theblondesalad :)

-What's the secret of your everyday optimism? Nobody is perfect and I can't be optimist each day and in every situation, even If I always try to smile to the life that I find amazing. On my blog I've always wanted to share everything which makes me feel positive emotions, and I'm very happy if at least some of you got this message.

-How did you and Richie meet? How long have you been together? We met thanks to some friendships we had in common and also thanks to a less friendly approach on a website where we both were members years ago. He told me I wasn't polite because I didn't answer him and so we started joking, finding out we had some friends in common who came to a happyhour with us. We then started to go out together and 15 days later we went together on a ski holiday to Sestriere, with our friends as well. We decided to be together there, in december 2006. Our story together started there, and our love is for sure one of the most important and happy part of my life.

- How did your friendship with Veronica start? I met her at our first year of university, we were in the same class. We started to get to know each other the following year and we never stopped spending time together: she's very similar to me and we can understand each other with a look. We have very similar taste and passion but there has never been and will never be competition between us, only reciprocal support

-Do you have any brothers or sisters? I have 2 younger sisters: Francesca is 21 and Valentina is 17. I often take photos at them and upload the shoots on my blog, they're my wonderful creatures.

-Are all these clothes and accessories only yours? Yes, If i don't write something different in the post or description. I sometimes steal bags or clothes from my mum and sisters, but most of the cases It's only my stuff.

-How can you afford all the things you have? I have to be very thankful to my family for sure because It has always given me a lot of possibilites. I've been working for some years but without having a regular job: i work as a model in a showroom, I work as a personal shopper for some people, some years ago I used to sell handmade necklaces made by myself, and now I'm also receiving some interesting proposal thanks to my blog :D

-Where are all your bags from? I have a real passion for bags so I spend most of my shopping money on them. Most of them are stolen from my mum or grandma, who have always appreciated them as much as i do. I managed to buy some of them with my money in the boutiques, some of them are presents from Richie or from my family for particular occasions. I buy some of them used in some vintage shops or in vintage markets in Milan or from powersellers from ebay (I prefer ebay uk or ebay france), i also exchange some of them with my friends or buy some pieces from them.

-Your favourite movie? Forrest Gump for sure.

-Your favourite book? A thousand splendid suns by Khaled Hosseini

-Your favourite song? Best of you from Foo Fighters, it's unique.

-The best cities you've visited? First place goes to New York, then London, Chicago and Paris.

-Your favourite food? I'm so italian in this, pizza and pasta :D

-Do you smoke? Absolutely not, even if sometimes I use menthol cigarettes for some different shoot

-Are you happy now? I really am

Ho notato che le domande che mi sono state poste sono decisamente di più di quelle che potevo immaginare, quindi provo qui a rispondere a quelle che sono state formulate di più, abbiate pietà di me :D

-Quando hai creato il blog e perchè? Il mio blog è nato ad ottobre 2009, principalmente per il bisogno che ho cominciato a provare di costruirmi uno spazio tutto mio e molto personalizzabile in cui esprimermi al meglio. Da tempo pubblicavo le mie foto su un sito di condivisione, flickr , su cui avevo già un notevole seguito, ed è probabilmente grazie alla mia "notorietà" in quel sito che ho avuto subito molto successo anche all'apertura del blog, che ora prediligo sicuramente come mezzo per raccontarmi.

-Da cosa deriva il nome del blog? Questo blog non è soltanto un blog di moda, ma è proprio un'insalata di tutto ciò che mi riguarda: potete trovare i miei outfit, i miei video, la mia famiglia, il mio ragazzo, i miei amici, i miei viaggi, le mie passioni. Cerco di condividere tutto ciò che apprezzo dalla vita, con l'intenzione di rendervi partecipi di tutto quello che io ritengo bello ed interessante.

-Chi scatta le foto? Dipende. Nella maggior parte dei casi le foto in esterno vengono scattate dal mio ragazzo ed ogni tanto da qualche amico, mentre quelle in casa le faccio quasi sempre io da sola con cavalletto e telecomando.

-Con cosa scatti le tue fotografie? Uso la mia Nikon D90 con cui mi trovo molto bene, a cui ho aggiunto flash esterno ed obiettivo 50 mm f1.8

-Quanti anni hai? Al momento ho 22 anni, sono nata il 7 maggio 1987 (ricordatevi degli auguri :D ) , segno zodiacale toro!

-Cosa studi?Dove? Studio giurisprudenza alla Bocconi, ormai sono al quarto anno di corso e l'anno prossimo dovrei laurearmi in tempo. Sono interessata principalmente al diritto internazionale, anche se è una strada completamente diversa da quella che sto intraprendendo con il mio blog. Vedremo cosa riuscirò a combinare :D

-Cosa pensi di fare una volta terminata l'università? Ancora non ne ho idea, se decido di restare nell'ambito del diritto il mio sogno sarebbe lavorare per qualche organizzazione internazionale. Se invece si aprirà maggiormente la strada della moda probabilmente seguirò quella, che è una delle mie più grandi passioni

-Come mai non hai mai pensato di studiare moda? Ho sempre visto la moda come una passione più che un effettivo lavoro per me, e ci ho sempre giocato senza mai studiarla. Sto cominciando ora a comprare i primi libri di storia della moda per riuscire ad avere una preparazione più adeguata :)

-Che liceo hai fatto? Ho fatto il liceo classico a Cremona

-Da quanto tempo vivi a Milano? Ho vissuto a Cremona insieme ai miei genitori fino alla fine del liceo, a 19 anni. Mi sono trasferita a Milano per iniziare l'università, anche se conoscevo già bene la città che frequentavo per lavoro e per via di amici e storie passate

-Da chi hai preso questa tua passione per moda e fotografia? Sicuramente da mia mamma, che mi ha sempre appassionata fin da bambina facendomi avvicinare al mondo della moda e scattando a me e alle mie sorelle migliaia di foto. Se da piccola non riuscivo ad apprezzare l'idea di posare spesso per i suoi ritratti con il tempo ho compreso quanto quello che faceva fosse bello ed importante. Ora mia mamma pubblica principalmente le sue foto sul suo profilo flickr

-Sei italiana al 100%? Si, entrambi i miei genitori e le loro famiglie sono italiane. Io adoro letteralmente l'Italia e sono fiera di essere italiana, anche se penso che all'estero sia più facile far successo ed avere grossi soddisfazioni lavorativamente parlando

-Quanto sei alta e quanto pesi? Sono alta 1,77 m e peso circa 55, 56 kg. Non prendete il mio peso come un modello, sono sicuramente molto fortunata perchè riesco a rimanere magra anche mangiando molto, e ognuno è diverso per quanto riguarda il fisico.

-Come fai a mantenere cosi il tuo fisico?Fai sport? Amo lo sport ma stando principalmente a Milano ne riesco a praticare poco, sono molto fortunata per avere un fisico che regge benissimo tutto ciò che mangio, non ho mai fatto una dieta in vita mia. Fino al liceo ho giocato a basket in una squadra prima mista e poi femminile, uno degli sport che preferisco e per cui sono più portata. Amo sciare in inverno e nuotare e correre in estate.

-Come curi la tua pelle? La mia pelle è tutt'altro che perfetta ed è uno dei miei punti deboli. Cerco di curarla molto lavandola due volte al giorno ed usando una crema per il viso della Clinique, indosso poi pochissimo trucco, ma spesso ho qualche imperfezione. In passato facevo spesso lampade ma ora le evito accuratamente: rendono la pelle più bella ed omogenea ma la fanno invecchiare precocemente.

-Cosa fai ai capelli? Il mio colore naturale è un biondo molto scuro, rosso praticamente. Da circa quattro anni ho cominciato a fare i colpi di sole per schiarirli un pò ed il risultato mi piace molto, anche se ultimamente ogni tanto penso di tornare al mio colore naturale. Non li ho mai tinti completamente, sto cercando di farli crescere lunghi e per questo li taglio solo una volta ogni 3, 4 mesi, uso delle gocce per ammorbidirli dopo la doccia e dovrei cominciare a fare qualche maschera. Se li faccio asciugare naturalmente sono mossi/ricci, per lisciarli invece uso solo il phon e mai la piastra che li rovina troppo.

-Hai lavorato o lavori come modella? A 16 anni sono stata presa all'agenzia Beatrice Models di Milano, per cui ho fatto qualche lavoretto durante quegli anni. Ho smesso perchè ho trovato altre ispirazioni, altri obiettivi nella mia vita. L'università per me è importantissima e mi dedico principalmente allo studio, anche se il blog diventa giorno dopo giorno parte integrante della mia vita e (si spera) del mio futuro. Ogni tanto lavoro ancora come modella in showroom o per qualche collaborazione, ma ora principalmente legata a theblondesalad :)

-Qual è il segreto del tuo costante ottimismo? Nessuno è perfetto e neanche io naturalmente riesco ad essere ottimista ogni giorno ed in ogni situazione, anche se cerco sempre di sorridere alla vita che trovo meravigliosa. Sul blog ho sempre voluto condividere tutto ciò che mi provoca emozioni positive, e sono veramente felice se alcuni di voi hanno ricevuto questo messaggio.

-Come vi siete conosciuti tu e Richie? Da quanto siete insieme? Ci siamo conosciuti mediante amicizie in comune e un approccio poco amichevole su un sito in cui entrambi eravamo iscritti anni fa. Lui mi aveva dato della maleducata per non aver risposto ad un complimento e cosi abbiamo cominciato a scherzare, scoprendo poi di avere amici in comune con cui siamo andati a fare un aperitivo. Da li abbiamo cominciato a frequentarci e una quindicina di giorni dopo siamo stati insieme in vacanza a Sestriere a sciare, con i nostri amici. Li, a dicembre 2006, ci siamo messi insieme. Da li è cominciata la nostra storia insieme, che è sicuramente una delle parti più importanti e felici della mia vita.

-Come è nata la tua amicizia con Veronica? L'ho conosciuta il primo anno di università, eravamo in classe insieme. Abbiamo cominciato a conoscerci meglio l'anno seguente e da li non ci siamo mai staccate: lei è molto simile a me e riusciamo a capirci con uno sguardo. Abbiamo gusti e passioni simili ma non c'è mai stata nè ci sarà mai competizione tra noi due, ma solo reciproco sostegno.

-Hai sorelle o fratelli? Ho due sorelle più piccole di me: Francesca che ha 21 anni e Valentina che ne ha 17, che spesso fotografo ed i cui scatti spesso uploado sul blog. Sono le mie meraviglie

-I vestiti e accessori sono tutti tuoi? Si, a meno che io lo scriva espressamente nel post o nella descrizione. Ogni tanto rubo borse o vestiti a mia mamma o le mie sorelle, ma nella maggior parte dei casi si tratta di oggetti miei.

-Come fai a permetterti tutto quello che compri? Sicuramente per molto devo esser grata alla mia famiglia che mi ha sempre dato grandi possibilità. Io lavoro da qualche anno ma senza avere un impegno fisso: lavoro come modella in showroom, faccio da personal shopper a delle persone, qualche anno fa vendevo delle collane create da me, ed ora sto ricevendo delle proposte interessanti grazie al mio blog :D

-Da dove vengono tutte le tue borse? Le borse sono una delle mie passioni in fatto di moda e sicuramente spendo la maggior parte dei miei soldi per lo shopping "investendoli" in queste meraviglie. La maggior parte delle mie borse le ho rubate a mia mamma o a mia nonna, che le hanno sempre apprezzate quanto me. Alcune sono riuscita a comprarmele io stessa in negozio, altre sono regali di Richie o della mia famiglia per particolari occasioni. Molte le compro io stessa usate, sia in alcuni negozietti o fiere del vintage a Milano sia da venditori fidati su ebay (meglio ebay uk o ebay france), alcune le scambio o compro da amiche.

-Il tuo film preferito? Forrest Gump sicuramente al primo posto.
