Here I am in New York, even if for only a few days, to work for Benetton and their competition "It's my time", in which I took part writing some pieces for their website. After two long flights (I tried for the first time in my life the business class :) ) I arrived here, my favourite city ever, even if it's kinda strange living it all by myself without Richie and my friends I visited it with, the other times. I arrived here yesterday at about 3pm (9pm in the evening italian time), walked around the neighbourhood to see some shops around my hotel, The Standard in the meatpacking district, and then I had a shower and got prepared for the Benetton party at the last floor of the hotel where I also met some of the winners of the competition. In the hotel I recorded a short video to show you my room that I find amazing, sorry for the mistakes in English and for my italian pronunciation, I'm trying to do the best I can every time :D
This morning we'll spend the time in a studio to see the first shots at the winners, I'll try to do my best to make you 100% part of this experience!

Eccomi a New York, seppure per solo pochi giorni, per lavorare per Benetton ed il loro concorso It's my time per cui avevo collaborato scrivendo alcuni pezzi sul loro sito. Dopo due voli lunghissimi (in cui per la prima volta ho provato la business class :) ) sono arrivata qui, la mia città preferita in assoluto, anche se effettivamente è strano viverla tutta sola senza Richie ed i miei amici con cui l'ho visitata le altre volte. Arrivata qui ieri alle 3 circa (9 di sera ora italiana) ho fatto un breve giro nei negozi vicino al mio hotel, lo Starndard nel meatpacking district, e poi sono corsa a docciarmi per la festa all'ultimo piano dell'hotel, in cui ho conosciuto anche alcuni dei vincitori del concorso. Appena arrivata in hotel ho fatto un mini video per mostrarvi anche la camera che io trovo pazzesca, scusatemi già da ora per eventuali errori in inglese :D
Stamattina passeremo il tempo in studio ad assistere ai primi scatti dei vincitori, cercherò di fare del mio meglio per rendervi partecipi al 100% di questa mia esperienza!

Cmq, si, vedi che scusarti in anticipo per il tuo inglese imperfetto ti rende più umile? (anche se magari la maggior parte delle persone lo sapesse come te!!)
Poi il top l'hai abbinato benissimo, smorzando il lato "volgare" che potrebbe tirare fuori se abbinato diversamente!
Unica e grande critica: da italiana mi sento "snobbata" e "pseudo-offesa" per aver detto che hai preferito fare il video solo in inglese altrimenti ti avrebbero capito poche persone... Si certo meglio accontentare gli stranieri per primi piuttosto che i tuoi connazionali, dato che gran parte del tuo successo lo devi anche e soprattutto a noi.. Prendi esempio da kenza o altre blogger simili..
Mio punto di vista ovviamente, penso sia giusto darti consigli per migliorare il tuo "approccio" verso i fan!

Forse Chiara avrebbe dovuto mettere una versione del video anche in italiano ma cerchiamo di stare al passo.
in altri paesi europei i bambini non guardano i cartoni animati nella loro lingua madre ma in inglese, non vengono affatto tradotti.
Detto ciò, forse chiara non ha avuto tempo di caricare molto materiale dato che sarà sicuramente molto impegnata.
Chiara, la maglietta ti sta davvero bene però era tutto troppo scuro.
Pur amando il nero con tutto il cuore,secondo me avresti dovuto abbinare accessori più luminosi.

Mi è piaciuto il video in inglese,anche solo per sentire la pronuncia di un'altra persona.
Vorrei aggiungere che conoscere l'inglese,anche solo le basi della lingua,non mi sembra così difficile e da élite,io ricordo di aver avuto il simpatico corso di lingua inglese anche alle elementari del mio paesino mini,ogni regione offre corsi gratuiti e basta cercarli,in più le università statali hanno i corsi non controllati ai quali qualsiasi persona può accedere.Non conoscere l'inglese non è da pezzenti,tutti possono imparare una lingua nuova se sono interessati

Volevo dirti la mia opinione su tutti i commenti che a volte le persone fanno sul tuo aspetto..io penso che le tue foto sono sempre belle a dispetto del fatto che tu tutti i giorni non fai un vero reportage fotografico con uno studio che ti prepara e ti rende perfetta per lanciare una serie di vestiti di marca...tu fai già molto..qualche imperfezione ti rende più vera, come una normale ragazza che esce di casa al mattino per andare all'università dopo una doccia e una veloce colazione...
Ti ammiro sopratutto per il tuo carattere che ti aiuterà sempre ad andare avanti come una schiacciassassi...BRAVA!
Non capisco perché si debba venire tacciati d'invidia o quant'altro per il semplice fatto di non amare ciò che fa Chiara. Non so chi di voi ha visto la puntata del Chiambretti Night in cui lei era ospite, ma ciò che ha detto Jonathan é molto vero. La moda non si impara né dai blog né da internet ma é qualcosa di assolutamente innato e personale. Attraverso il modo di vestire esprimiamo la nostra personalità; basti pensare a stilisti come Giorgio Armani che indossa sempre lo stesso capo d'abbigliamento, una sorta di divisa che lo rende da anni inconfondibile o John Galliano che attraverso il suo modo estroso di vestire esprime la sua grandiosa genialità e creatività (sarebbe stupido imitarlo no?). Dunque copiare un look e acquistare un abito solo per apparire, ostentare e fare effetto sugli altri lo reputo privo di senso. Si rischia un'omologazione di massa e a volte si corre il rischio di apparire ridicoli perché in qualche modo si vuole essere originali a tutti i costi ma il risultato il piu' delle volte é pessimo. Personalmente non ho nulla contro Chiara ma non tollero il fatto che lei definisca questo spazio come un "blog di moda" perché tale non é. Potrebbe essere (lo é o lo é stata) una modella ma di certo non può "professarsi" un'esperta e critica di moda nel momento in cui descrive un abito come "giovane e tranquillo". Oppure dire che McQueen e' il suo stilista preferito solo perché lei ama i teschi. Affermare questo é molto superficiale e riduttivo visto che dietro la figura dello stilista c'era un infanzia molto particolare e di conseguenza le sue creazioni esprimevano la sua interiorità. Tanto di cappello allora per Tavi Gavinson che riesce a tener testa ad importanti critici e giornalisti di moda con giudizi di un certo spessore. Commenta collezioni di noti stilisti come le sorelle Mulleavy (Rodarte) o Yohji Yamamoto in modo encomiabile.
Questo non può essere definito un blog di moda se gli unici commenti si limitano al "wow sei fantastica", "meravigliosa", "divina"...restano banali apprezzamenti fini a se stessi, mancano completamente contenuti e opinioni nel campo della moda!
Tanto per fare un esempio, credo che molte persone qui non sanno chi sia l'autore della foto che uso come avatar...non conoscere certe basi elementari equivale al nulla!
