I can officially present them to you on the blog: here are my Christopher Kane for J Brand shorts, probably my favourite pair of denim shorts (seen on Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at Coachella for the first time) and the best gift I received during this trip. I wore them last Thursday night in Los Angeles for a dinner at Chateau Marmont and last Sunday as well, to walk around the city and to go the beach.
We lived our last day in Los Angeles (and 24th day of our coast to coast) at its fullest: in the morning we went to the famous Fairfax flea market, where It was easy finding real treasures. The best items were cheap pieces of furniture (which were anyway to difficult to bring back to Italy) and the vintage jewels: I found a beautiful silver bangle, a Mickey Mouse watch to add to my collection (have I ever mentioned you I collect them?) and some Vidakush bracelets and necklaces. We then had lunch at Cecconi’s, before going back to the beach where Richi tried surfing again and I tried to tan with the other guys.
After almost one month of American food we decided to have an italian dinner: Matteo cooked for us at Shea’s place pasta alla norma, bruschette and caprese salad. A perfect conclusion to our five wonderful days in Los Angeles before roadtripping to San Francisco.
Ve li posso finalmente presentare in veste ufficiale: ecco i miei shorts Christopher Kane for J Brand, probabilmente il mio paio di shorts in denim preferiti (visti per la prima volta addosso a Rosie Huntington-Whiteley al Coachella) ed il regalo più bello ricevuto durante questo viaggio. Li ho indossati giovedi sera a Los Angeles per una cena da Chateau Marmont e tutto il giorno domenica scorsa, per andare in giro per la città e poi in spiaggia.
Abbiamo vissuto l’ultimo giorno a Los Angeles (24esimo giorno di coast to coast) tutto d’un fiato: alla mattina siamo stati al famoso Fairfax flea market, dove si potevano trovare veri tesori. Il pezzo forte era a mio parere l’arredamento veramente conveniente (un po’ difficile però da riportare in Italia) e la bigiotteria/gioielli vintage: ho trovato un bellissimo bracciale d’argento, un orologio vintage di Mickey Mouse da aggiungere alla mia collezione (vi avevo mai detto che li colleziono?) ed alcuni bracciali e collane di Vidakush. Abbiamo pranzato poi da Cecconi’s, prima di ritornare per una seconda volta in spiaggia, dove Richi ha riprovato il surf ed io ho cercato di prendere un po’ di colore al sole insieme agli altri ragazzi.
Dopo quasi un mese di cibo americano abbiamo deciso fosse il giusto momento per una cena rigorosamente italiana: Matteo ha cucinato per noi a casa di Shea pasta alla norma, bruschette ed insalata caprese. Una perfetta conclusione dei nostri 5 splendidi giorni a Los Angeles prima di partire verso San Francisco.
