Have you ever gone out in the evenings, and had something come up that stops you from going home? Oops. This can happen, it can happen on weekdays too, and on those days, it is virtually impossible for many of us to go home and change before we get busy in the morning. This happened to me a few times in the past, and I was never prepared for these last-minute changes of plan. Which meant, I had to go to the office, and walk my Walk of Shame. Have you ever done that? It’s not an experience I recommend to anyone!

For those who don’t know, not even after watching Game of Thrones, the walk of shame is that moment when you have to be out and walk as if nothing happened, while the world around you is judging you, for one reason or another. Today, we will talk about the times you get judged because it’s early in the morning, and you’re still dressed for your night out. Pretty embarrassing, isn’t it? This season, though, fashion can be your ace in the hole — I say “your” because I don’t really go out to dance on weekdays anymore, I feel too old for that. Party style is a great trend for winter 2017 though, and it is a wonderful starting point to help you not to stick out on the morning metro ride, but if you want to make sure you avoid everyone asking you what you did last night, follow our extra tips here.

1. Always travel with a toothbrush. If you like small bags, just get a travel toothbrush: essential, right? And of course, don’t leave the house without your lipstick and your mascara.

 2. Wear comfortable shoes: if you feel the night could extend way beyond what you imagine, high heels are the worst option you can think of for the day after.

3. If your top is low-cut or see-through, bring a high-necked top or a sweatshirt you can wear over, or even underneath, your evening top: it will tone down your look, and just suggest that this is your cool office outfit of the day.

Ready for your night out?

Look 1. For a Courtney Love inspo outfit, some cozy sweater will give you a cute touch.

Look 2. Black is always a good idea. Make contrast with red lipstick by night and bring also the pink one for the day after.

Look 3. 90’s are back girls: add some casual touch wearing a basic turtleneck under your top, et voilà!

  • The subject of this post is absolutely hilarious and I love it.. no one wants to talk about the walk of shame but I am so glad you did & gave options! The last being my favorite, can’t help that I love a classic pair of converse. Awesome tips!!
