The fashion month has just started with New York fashion week and it’s probably too soon to define the trends for the next cold season. Anyway, we’ve already noticed some clothes and accessories that will make the difference in our future looks and that we’ll certainly have to own for next Fall Winter 2016. We selected 8 of them. If they’re not already in your wardrobe, it’s time to be ahead of the game and get them right away!
If forgetting the iconic dress Kate Moss wore back in 1993 at Elite Model Agency’s party is still hard for you too, then this is your year. Slip dress has in fact made its roaring comeback: with see-through inserts for Diane Von Fustenberg and with a super vintage effect for Tommy Hilfiger. For Narciso Rodriguez is total black and covered in sequins, perfect when worn under a maxi coat or a faux fur one.
The shows presented plenty of versions; brown with that ’70s touch for Creature Of The Wind, blue for Lacoste and black with a punk rock feel for Opening Ceremony. Our favorites? Proenza Schouler’s light brown boots with silver point, even though the choice was far from easy.
You know that piece of clothing that you totally forgot to have and thought you were never going to use again?! Well, it’s time to blow dust off of it. Wearing it never been so easy; over a slightly see-through top as seen in Ohne Titlel’s show, a ton sur ton shirt like Delpozo or a puff sleeve blouse like Diane Von Fustenberg.
From Jeremy Scott’s mesh style to the floral tights by Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs’ striped version, and the ones featuring slogans by Alexander Wang: bare legs are finally optional, and tights have become one of next season’s key accessories. Beautiful even when super simple and total black as seen at Ralph Lauren.
Have you ever tried to wear it with a sweater tucked in it? (A.P.C) Or maybe daring with a same-fabric suit (Michael Kors) …well, you should ;). We also love the vintage cowgirl version by Coach 1941.
If you have to focus on something “big”, next season, go for any type of outerwear. From coat to duffle coat and bomber jacket for a guaranteed cozy effect! Wasn’t Lady Gaga amazing in Marc Jacobs? We totally fell in love with Jason Wu’s coat and Alexander Wang’s jacket.
The 1970’s are still ruling, deal with it. We saw the shearling in many versions and colors, also combined with other materials. Oversized for Marc Jacobs, long with visible zippers for Lacoste. Far more classic is the black version by Altuzarra, but also aubergine with fur inserts for Anna Sui or simply total shearling for Opening Ceremony. Just a suggestion…check out your city’s vintage stores!
Rivers of joy for those who are more sensitive to the cold. Gloves become a real key accessory for your look. One thing must be clear; it must at least be above the elbow. Purple lace for Marc Jacobs, pink leather with appliques of leaves and golden flowers for Delpozo, white leather with pleated skin inserts for Rodarte and black kit with feather inserts for Michael Kors.
