Holidays do not just mean beach, sea and complete relax, but also exploring, culture, and the having the chance to learn something new. Berlin, a European melting pot, is certainly a ideal place for summer vacation for its climate and atmosphere. At The Blonde Salad we have some not that common tips for your days in the German city that never sleeps.
I Golosi Briganti ( Falckensteinstrasse 33, 10997 )
An Italian restaurant-pizzeria, the waiters are so sweet and the delightful ambiance is illuminated by many candles where pizzas, besides being large and delicious are also cheap! Absolutely to be tried, even for their other menu delicacies; a fusion between Neapolitan and Sardinian. Yummi!
Monsieur Vuong ( Alte Schoenhauser Str. 46, 10119 )
A triumph of lemon grass, curry, exotic herbs and toasted sesame: a small but excellent Vietnamese restaurant plicated among many cool shops. They do no take reservations but the wait is totally worth it.
Kopps ( Linienstrasse 94, 10115 )
One of our favorite vegan spots, especially for breakfast, full of delicacies of any kid. The atmosphere is cool and also very relaxed.
Burgermeister ( Oberbaumstrasse 8, 10997 )
The ultimate hamburger in Berlin is right under the underground bridge. Super tasty, even the vegetarian one!
ART & CULTURE
Berlinische Galerie ( Alte Jakobstrasse 124-128, )
Berlin and modern art: one completes the other! The space of this gallery is charming, even from the outside. We suggest a quick stop at the coffee shop next-door.
Jewish Museum ( Lindenstrasse 9-14, 10969 )
The Jewish museum, hosted by a building specifically created by Daniel Liebskind to arouse visitors’ emotional reaction, has always many exhibition scheduled.
East side Gallery ( Muehlenstrasse, 14059 )
One of the longest parts of wall remaining from the separation of East and West Germany. Covered by mural art, could also serve as perfect set for some nice pictures.
Luzia ( Oranienstr. 34, 10999 )
A cozy open space with second-hand furniture, the crowd is mixed and it’s perfect for a couple of drinks before going to a club.
Club der Visionaere ( Am Flutgraben 1, 12435 )
A rustic small brick building located by an equally small canal. It’s more a bar than a club, perfect for a pre and post night out with good music ( some world famous DJs in incognito often play here live ).
://About Blank (Markgrafendamm 24c, Friedrichshain, 10245)
House and techno music and occasionally also bass or disco, this gritty club is mostly known for Homopatik , a gay party. It’s beautiful in summer with one of its dance floors that moves to the colorful garden.
Paul’s Boutique ( Oderbergerstraße 47 10435 )
This vintage store has a large selection of sneakers, jeans, sweatshirts and T-shirts. You can get good deals.
Voo ( Oranienstraße 24, 10999 )
It’s our favorite concept store in town that features mostly Scandinavian and French brands and a nice selection of shoes and magazines. It also features a small café where you can enjoy a great espresso during a shopping break.
Flohmarkt am MauerPark ( Eberswalder Str., Berlin )
Undoubtedly the most famous flea market of the city, open every Sunday from 8AM to 6PM. You can literally find anything here, even what you didn’t expect you would want! It’s perfect to find souvenirs to take home…and drinks and food are not bad either!
