Would you know how to create a proper, artistic sushi presentation? We were wondering, and since TBS Crew loves challenges, the wondering quickly turned into a competition. We asked Sushi Art for help: a fusion restaurant that couples Japanese cuisine with Italian ingredients, Sushi Art just opened its doors in the heart of Brera, in via San Marco 28. Their menu is just delicious, featuring revisited, Mediterranean-style tartares, rolls and temaki with uncommon pairings, and sensational bignés (Italian-style cream puffs) that are actually delicious, beautiful fish carpaccios – all of this served in a modern, artsy atmosphere, featuring abstract art that is specially painted for the restaurant. For our challenge, the cooks prepared multiple nigiri and sashimi and gave us two minutes to create our very own (decent?) presentation. The main question was, how would chef Luigi, the incontestable judge for our competition, judge our work? Armed with our sushi master hachimakis, the headbands that every true sushi master wears, we got to work, and guess what? We were proud of our results! Which is your favorite dish? You can pick for your favorite by clicking on the icon on the top right at the end of the video, and next week we will reveal the results of the popular vote – yours – as well as chef Luigi’s choice. In the meantime, we will definitely go back to Sushi Art… But just for eating 😉
