«I am not a model. I work as a model». This sentence is quite telling about Aymeline Valade‘s personality. It is very important for Aymeline to point out that she is way more than just a pretty face, and that she doesn’t want to be labeled. Truth be told, she really isn’t your typical It Girl. She’s a skater, she is not a shopaholic and she loves wearing the same stuff, over and over. Would you ever have told? Gifted with an intense, piercing gaze, the typical French class of bygone times, and lips that wrote (her) history, she started her fashion career with Balenciaga, who launched her in the fashion world – and Balenciaga will always be her home. From then on, all the famous maisons picked Aymeline as their muse: she was part of the fashion shows of Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Missoni and Chanel, and she was also featured in several magazines. One passion is just not enough for gorgeous Aymeline, which is why she also recently debuted as an actress. She first starred in the Saint Laurent biopic, in which she played Betty Catroux, the designer’s main muse, and she also was casted for Louis Garrel’s first feature film, Les Deux Amis. Valade seems to adore cinema: will she make the transition from supermodel to film star? Time will tell. In the meantime, we will keep our loving eye on her. Don’t forget to have a look at this week’s gallery, dedicated to Aymeline Valade, our WCW of the week.
