Last day in Shanghai

End of my week in Shanghai: photos shot during our last day there, Tuesday, before the Elite Model Look contest. I went to have lunch at “M on the Bund”, restaurant that a lot of you suggested me, with Angie and the writer Luca Bianchini, who was guest of Elite as well. The first photo were shot at the terrace of the restaurant, which has a wonderful view of Pudong. After visiting the Jinmao Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center I couldn’t avoi a visit to the Pearl Tower, Shanghai’s first skyscraper, built in the 90s. Loved the part with the glass as a floor, at 300 m high: very touching, you really have to try it if you’re in Shanghai! I was wearing Miu Miu boots, maxi hat and bicolor sweater that you’ve already seen here :)

Epilogo della mia settimana a Shanghai: foto scattate durante il nostro ultimo giorno li, martedi, prima della finale di Elite Model Look. Sono stata a pranzo da “M on the Bund”, ristorante che molti di voi mi avevano consigliato, insieme ad Angie e allo scrittore Luca Bianchini, anche lui ospite di Elite. Le prime foto sono state scattate proprio sulla terrazza del ristorante, che gode della migliore vista di Pudong.

Elite Model Look 28th final

Good morning beauties! Yesterday, the 7th December, was my 5th anniversary with Richi: after 2 flights and more than 12 hours on planes I came home from Shanghai in time for dinner and for the wonderful surprise he organized for me (romantic dinner at home with an amazing present). Here for you now the photos of my last night in Shanghai, the 6th December, in which the 28th Elite Model Look final took place: at the Mercedes-Benz Arena 70 girls from all over the world challenged themselves on the catwalk: at the end the winner was announced: the swedish Julia Schneider (the girl on the left in one of the last photos of the post, with the other 2 finalists). On the stage, with some of the most famous Elite top models, also the actress Nikki Reed (you’ll remember about her from Thirteen and Twilight) and the fantastic Kylie Minogue, which performed live first with her 20 dancers (look at the video in the post) and then tried something different, singing one of her first songs “Lucky”, in an acoustic version with Yundi, famous chinese piano player. On the stage also the chinese band Lollipop F, which enchanted the audience.
The after-party took place at M1NT, the most famous Shanghai club (you were right, It’s even better than the Bar Rouge). For the occasion I wore a MSGM dress with my loved Louboutin Pigalle shoes. Buongiorno meraviglie! Ieri, 7 dicembre, era il mio quinto anniversario insieme a Richi: dopo 2 voli e più di 12 ore di aereo sono tornata in tempo da Shanghai per cena e per la meravigliosa sorpresa che mi aveva preparato (cena a casa a lume di candela ed un regalo splendido). Ecco invece per voi le foto dell’ultima serata a Shanghai, il 6 dicembre, in cui si è tenuta la 28esima finale del concorso universale di Elite Model Look: alla Mercedes-Benz Arena una 70ina di ragazze da tutto il mondo si sono sfidate sulla passerella: dopo varie eliminazioni è stata annunciata la vincitrice, la svedese Julia Schneider (la ragazza sulla sinistra in una delle ultime foto del post, insieme alle altre 2 finaliste).

Before coming back to Milan to celebrate my 5 years with Richi here for you some photos of my Monday in Shanghai look (this sweater was one of the only purchases I made) and the first photos from Pearl Tower, at night :)

Shanghai day 4: on the top

Photos of my Sunday in Shanghai: after a walk in Xintiandi (It so looks like a European town) we went for the first time to the giant Mercedes-Benz Arena to see the models of Elite Model Management trying the stage before the finale, in which the new face of 2012 will be chosen. The models who take part in this contest are around 70 and they come from all over the world: tonight is gonna be the finale (with a live performance by Kylie Minogue) and I’m already excited for them :)
Since I have a big passion for skyscrapers I couldn’t avoid to get to the top of the Shanghai World Financial Center: with its 435 metres of height (I’ve never been to such a big skyscraper) and a gallery with a panoramic view (even under your feet, awesome) It got the record for the world’s highest observatory.
To end the night Angie and I enjoyed the Talent Show organized by Elite Models in which most of the 70 models challenged themselves taking their talents on stage: some of them danced with traditional clothes, other ones sang, other ones played the piano… Let the best one win tonight!

Foto della mia domenica a Shanghai: dopo un giro a Xintiandi (praticamente un angolo di Europa) siamo stati per la prima volta alla mastodontica Mercedes-Benz Arena per assistere alle prove della finale di Elite Model Management, in cui verrà scelto il nuovo volto del 2012. Le modelle che partecipano sono circa una settatina e provengono da tutto il mondo: stasera si terranno le finali (con una performance dal vivo di Kylie Minogue) e già sono agitata per loro :)
