We’re going to share one of our (not so secret) beauty secrets: using oil as part of your skincare. Not olive oil, although that is excellent as makeup remover – try it with any liquid lipstick that is hard to remove. Nature offers a very wide range of precious oils that are extracted from plants, fruits and nuts such as camellia, avocado, argan and grape seed oil, for your beauty routine.
Let’s start by debunking a very common myth about oil. It is not true that oils are not suitable for greasy skin: stabilizing the amount of oil on the surface of your skin will actually help it minimize excess oil production over the day. Our favorite option is applying oil at night, before going to bed. This gives more time to your skin to completely absorb your chosen oil’s goodness, and cuts the risk of feeling uncomfortable over the day. Beauty oils are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and thanks to their formula, they can reach the deeper layers of your skin more quickly and effectively than regular face creams can, which is also why you will get amazing results faster from oils, rather than creams. If you are feeling brave, you can even choose to use oil as your daily moisturiser. This may not work for everyone, but your skin will be very grateful to you if you try.
