Paris Fashion Week is in the middle of presentations, but already the first trends for the next F / W 2020-21 seem to have established themselves! Let’s start unconventionally and by decreeing what will not be fashionable next winter: no more animalier prints, but opt for the color block in the trendy nuances; logos too have left room for patterns with a more retro flavor. This is confirmed by Marine Serre which has renounced its moon icon to prefer overlays and refined textures. We can say, perhaps for the first time that Milan and Paris are very aligned on what will be the trends of the next autumn / winter declaring the following winners:
ALL LEATHER
- Saint Laurent FW 2020-21
- Off White FW 2020-21
Saint Laurent and Off-White are their spokespersons, the total leather look will be a must for next winter. Oversized coats, tight mini-dresses but also pants that play with the leather or similar texture in any sense, from the most classic to vinyl. Colors? Evergreen black, burgundy and purple.
TREND COLORS: DESERT AND PURPLE PALETTE
- Chloè FW 2020-21
- Acne Studio FW 2020-21
- Chloè FW 2020-21
- Rochas FW 2020-21
The color block as we said is a great protagonist of this PFW, but in what nuance? Just like in Milan, the neutral palette, red and all shades of green are very strong. But there is a great new entry that seems to have ousted the pink so much seen in past seasons: purple, used on coats, sweaters and tight pants
CHECKED PRINTS
- Dior FW 2020-21
- Saint Laurent FW 2020-21
Call it Tartan or checkered texture, it doesn’t change the fact that it is one of the most loved patterns. Made super cool by Dior for a few seasons now, also this year it is proposed again on duvets, hoods, and blazers … even by Saint Laurent!
SUIT OBSESSION
- Dior FW 2020-21
- Off White FW 2020-21
An evergreen that will never go out of style, the suit, the more masculine the better, it has definitely replaced skirts and dresses. Strictly in color block and oversized shapes, with dropped shoulders or puffed sleeves, it is present in all the proposals of our favorite brands, the super feminine Chloè included!
GRANDMA’S SWEATER IS THE NEW CROP TOP
Even in Paris the seductively vintage air breathed in Milan made itself felt! The crop tops have been replaced by oversized sweaters in a cardigan or crew neck version. The patterns? Embellished with tricot embroidery or special washes such as tie-dye. Examples? See Off-White or Acne Studio to believe!
