I don’t know about you, but when it comes to packing for the beach<\/strong> (and packing my beauty case in particular<\/strong>), it just feels overly complicated. Notwithstanding my egregious organisational skills (read: I am slightly neurotic and have to-do lists for packing, too), it’s always dramatic. Not this year, though \u2013 this year will be different. This is the year I write the guide I always wanted to read for foolproof packing \u2013 the kind where you actually don’t forget stuff! Let’s get started!<\/p>\n

First stop: creams<\/strong> and such. It’s super important that you get your hands on a small thermal bag<\/strong>. No, not for food, silly \u2013 for your creams! You’re going to leave your beach bag out in the sun for multiple hours a day \u2013 which is a no no for sunscreen and other products your bag contains. You’re going to kill two birds with one stone: not only will your sunscreen be safe from the heat, but it’ll stay cool and nice for when you apply it on your skin<\/strong>. It’ll feel great! Staying on topic: remember to pack a cooling spray, too<\/strong>: in the hottest hours of the day, it’ll feel amazing. And last but not least, remember to bring a SPF lip balm.<\/strong>\u00a0Your lips need protection, too.<\/p>\n

The second category we need to consider is hair care<\/strong>, especially for those of you with long locks. A protective spray must be in your bag at all times<\/strong>, together with hair ties to create fun beach hairdos<\/strong>, a brush with soft plastic bristles<\/strong> (such as Wet Brush or Tangle Teezer) or a wide teeth comb, and an environmentally friendly shampoo<\/strong>; by which I mean, a biodegradable product which you can use on the beach or on a boat. No using other products: remember, we have one planet, and it needs protecting.<\/p>\n

Finally, our ‘everything else’ section<\/strong>. These may not be real ‘must-haves’, but you’ll be thankful you have them with you. First: cleansing facial wipes<\/strong>, which are great to get rid of sunscreen residues and sand at the end of the day. Second: hand sanitizer<\/strong>, to use if the stickiness of the salt and sunscreen on your hands is driving you crazy, and to enjoy juicy summer fruit as a snack. And finally, a mix: I recommend creating a mini beauty case with makeup essentials<\/strong> you cannot live without, for that difficult transition from the beach to happy hours… I put some highlighter, peach-colored lipstick, and waterproof mascara<\/strong> in mine \u2013 but feel free to get crazy!<\/p>\n
