If tartan<\/strong> is the fashion obsession everybody is talking about (we said something as well here<\/u><\/a>, we\u2019re telling you why: Clueless<\/em><\/strong> style is back! The 1995 cult movie made Alicia Silverstone<\/strong> a Hollywood rising star, but also add some coolness to a pattern that was always related to Scotland and kilts. We must say thank you to Cher Horowitz<\/strong>, the high-school princess everyone was jealous of and that was not very impressed by grunge aesthetic.<\/p>\n

You probably don’t know that, in the movie, there are reportedly 53 tartan\u2019s patterns and that Cher herself, in her 60 costume changes in 90 minutes, wears 7 different prints? Costume designer Mona May<\/strong> decided to put this design everywhere in the movie: in those years, all the kids in high-school were dressed like young Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, and she thought it would be great to add a feminine and lively touch to these check prints<\/strong>, which became an exclusive of punk rockers and their flannel shirts.<\/p>\n

Cher was a true fashion inspiration: did you remember the software she used to create the perfect look for school? The most iconic one was the very first outfit she wore in the movie: a yellow plaid ensemble.<\/p>\n
