The new exhibition “Yves Saint Laurent – FORMES<\/strong>” chronicles the anticipatory modernity of the famous French fashion designer through an artistic collaboration between the Paris museum of the same name and artist Claudia Wieser. The exhibition, which will open on June 9, will feature some 40 models between haute couture and ready-to-wear, and will be enriched by the presence of textile and graphic works selected from the Museum’s collections.<\/p>\n

Throughout his career, Yves Saint Laurent<\/a> always invented shapes, and as early as 1958, as artistic director of Christian Dior, he asserted his modernity by signing the “Trap\u00e8ze” line, which became iconic and entered fashion history. In the 1960s, his creations combined simplicity of cut, rigor of line, and frankness of color, often playing with the juxtaposition of black and white to create optical effects and movement in the clothes as well.<\/p>\n

Artist Claudia Wieser has established a dialogue with textile and graphic art pieces from the Museum’s collections, creating immersive and contemplative installations that combine perfectly with Yves Saint Laurent’s artistic vision. For the “Yves Saint Laurent – FORMES” project, Wieser presents a series of pieces, some of which have never been seen before, that join the exhibition to offer an even more comprehensive and in-depth view of the modernity of the celebrated French fashion designer.<\/p>\n
