Chiara Ferragni<\/strong> continues her journey to discover the wonders of India. For her night in Jodhpur, she wanted to celebrate Indian culture and history by wearing a sari made by Sabyasachi. Two women helped Chiara during the dressing, telling her the history and how this traditional garment was created. The origins of the sari date back to 100 B.C. and it is one of the very few garments to have been handed down for so many centuries. It consists of a band of cloth about a metre wide, varying in length from four to nine metres, which is wrapped around the wearer’s body in methods that vary according to its function. The most common style of wearing the sari is the Nivi style and consists of wrapping it around the waist with one end going around the shoulder. The sari is worn over a petticoat and a short blouse called a choli. The decoration of the fabric, on the other hand, varies according to the different religions.<\/p>\n
