Here I am in my hotel room in Seoul after a long day in which I spent more than thirteen hours behind the camera: so tired but so excited.
It all started this morning (yesterday morning for you, since I’m talking about Sunday) at the korean bran Demin headquarters, where I met the designer Min. I walked for my first time in Gangnam area (which became famous worldwide thanks to PSY song), in Garasou Gil to be more precise, getting fascinated by the local brands stores (I have to go back there again tomorrow: I need at least an hour to actually do some shopping) where I had lunch before going to the tv studios.
My role? I was one of the judges of the korean fashion tv show “Sold Out”, which will be live on tv very soon: everything is possible here in Seoul, also taking part in such a show talking korean through my translator 🙂
Tomorrow (today for you) I’ll start the day with a photoshoot and I’ll have part of the afternoon free to properly explore the city and I need all your advice (I’m taking notes of all the ones I received).
In this outfit three small accessories I bought since my stay here: mini cross earrings and coloured beanie, that I also got in mint colour. See you soon korean shopping, I know the best is yet to come 🙂

Definitely Seoul is so avant garde in fashion… I loved it I remember spent lots of time in Dongdaemun stores, so cheap! just loved the shoes, but unfortunately Korea doesn’t do big size shoes =( … been in Europe, USA, LA but Asia is just about fashion and technology

You have to try the Buffet Restaurant called ‘The Parkview’ at The Shilla Seoul hotel. It is near Namsan tower just across the river from GarosuGil. The Shilla Seoul is the Luxury Independent Hotel in Seoul and you can’t miss it! -Jessica from Seoul

I was travelling through South Korea in October and I loved it. You should go to the palaces, you’ll love the markets like Dongdaemun! They are so full of clothes!

Hi Chiara, I’ve thought you should visit Seoul and finally you are there!!! So glad you enjoy staying there. I’m sure you already got plenty of must-see places though… Here are some areas that still have features of old Seoul: Bukchon Hanok Maeul(북촌한옥마을) and Samcheong-dong. I know it’s cold out there but you should photoshoot in Chenggye stream(청계천). Maybe you already did! Seoul is a beautiful city with a mixture of old and new. Hope you have lots of fun!
p.s. I personally think you should launch your shoes in S. Korea 😉

  • A lot of the shops can be overrated as you already have all the great brands in Italy. If you want to be blown away with Korean independent designers you have to go to the night market at Dongdaemoon (east gate market). There are hundreds of stores but check out Doota, Miliore, Jeil Pyunghwa or APM. Also, Itaewon Market and the surrounding shops behind Itaewon market has some amazing stuff for really affordable prices. Itaewon has a lot of up and coming restos and bars (Tasting Room and Buzza Pizza are amazing). Def make time to really explore Garosugil too!

as for a hot spot in Seoul, I highly recommend going Samchungdong St.
It’s really good place to feel tradditional korean style.
In that area, There is full of sightseeing like tradditional korean style house(called han-ok),
gallerys, restaurants and cafes. and besides, It’s really good place to take photos.
    you’ll definately like there 😀
and you’ve got time to spare, Changdeokgung(palace) is also good to go.
If you don’t know how to get there or what to see,
Just ask about this place to concierge in hotel.^^
    Enjoy !!!! 🙂 🙂

i cant believe youre in seoul! You have to go to seoul tower (near myeongdong or itaewon). you can hike up a bit or take a bus. It overlooks seoul and it is just beautiful. They also have these “walls of love”. couples go there to put locks on these walls and write a little message on it..its supposed to mean your love will last forever or something along those lines. You can buy all that stuff up there. There are THOUSANDS of locks from couples all over the world. Its adorable! you and your boyfriend should go do it. Theres also a small little restaurant up there that overlooks seoul which is great at sunset (definitely go there right before sunset..its the best time to get good photos). Have fun in seoul ^_^. i LOVE Garosugil!

As a Seoulite who studies fashion in NYC, it’s impossible for me to say how much I love Seoul as a hidden fashion capitals. When you explore Garosugil and near areas such as Apgujung and if you go a lil bit further, my favorite Chungdamdong area, make sure to check out not only the main streets but every hidden spots(do some research or ask for recommandations to fashionistas in Seoul) and streets. It’s just like Soho in NYC. The main street(aka Broadway) may be crowded and well known for shopping, all the good jewels are actually hidden around the corner! There are so many great select shops and local boutiques that you would love.. If you want to shop some accessories, drop by Hoyaanmore showroom in Chungdamdong. I think you will like it.(www.hoyanmore.com)

        Totally agree with Mattie!
Apgujung and Chungdamdong area is closed to Garosugil.
You can take a taxi to get there. It takes short!
They have great select shops and restaurants.
But I would research as Mattie said, cause some great spots are hidden.
10 corso como Seoul, Boon the shop, My Boon, Published, Je Ne Sais Quoi.
These are some great select shops;)
        Have FUN:)
