An event now in its fourth edition, eagerly awaited by fashionistas and art collectors alike, Louis Vuitton unveiled the new Artycapucines Collection created in a limited edition with the collaboration of six internationally renowned artists. The French fashion house’s iconic bag, which owes its name to the Parisian street Rue Neuve-des-Capucines-where Monsieur Louis Vuitton opened his first boutique in 1854-reveals its chameleon-like nature and becomes a canvas for the likes of Daniel Buren, Kennedy Yanko, Park Seo-Bo, Amélie Bertrand, Peter Marino, and Ugo Rondinone.

In carrying forward the astonishing creativity of the first three Artycapucines chapters, the design of the nine bags highlights the collection’s aptitude for blending artistic talent and inventiveness with the ingenuity and skill of the Maison’s master craftsmen. The last chapter outlines Daniel Buren’s double trompe-l’oeil motif, for the first time in four color variations; Kennedy Yanko’s creation made of 3D-printed leather with a metallic patina hand-applied by artisans; and one of Park Seo-Bo’s signature Écritures paintings, extraordinarily recreated in textured and decorated calfskin; Amélie Bertrand’s dazzling vision with hand-painted spray paint in an innovative way on the bag with iridescent and fluorescent colors; Peter Marino’s visually striking total black studded creation proposed by Peter Marino with an unexpected clasp; and Ugo Rondinone’s fun and enchantingly colored harlequin-style bag covered with more than 14. 000 hand-sewn beads.

This season, each bag will be presented in its own specially designed packaging to hold the precious creation. The Artycapucines Collection, which, to date, encompasses the work of celebrated artists such as Henry Taylor, Beatriz Milhazes, Urs Fischer, Zhao Zhao, Vik Muniz, Paolo Pivi and Tschabalala Self, once again testifies to Louis Vuitton’s willingness to make its innovative spirit and craftsmanship available to artists and their inspiration. Each bag reveals the Maison’s strong commitment to savoir-faire and craftsmanship, establishing the Capucines as the ultimate expression of femininity and the perfect embodiment of the Louis Vuitton woman. Each bag in the fourth Artycapucines Collection will be available in a limited edition of 200 items (50 for each color variant for Daniel Buren).
