Cushion compacts: what are they and which ones should you buy?

Composit CushionWhat comes to your mind when we say the words beauty and Korea? Other than sheet face masks and the prettiest cosmetics ever, it’s highly probable that someone will mention cushion compacts. They’ve taken over without us even realising it and now they’re already everywhere! It’s really easy to explain what it’s all about, because most of it has to do with the simple and different way of packaging. The products are inserted into a compact shell pack. Usually in the upper part you can find a mirror and a sponge, while the liquid is conserved in a small sponge under the cap, which is where the name “cushion” comes from. It is an innovative format because the distribution of the foundation (blush or other products) is precise, avoiding the sponge getting too saturated and that your makeup looks too cake-y. When it comes to the sponge those included in the compact aren’t usually that great, but you can use one of your favorites. Or rather, if you normally use brushes you could use one with synthetic fibers (even better if it’s dual fiber) to lift the product. The makeup works the same! Another advantage of cushion compacts is that they’re very easy to carry around in your bag, for retouching during the day. We like them a lot and we’ve been experimenting with them for a while now, and so in our gallery you’ll find a selection of our favorites. Most of them are for the complexion, but there are even cushion eyeliners! Who knows what other incredible discoveries Korean-style beauty will bring us…
