I’ve traveled a big part of the world but it’s always the places that are connected to your best memories that bring you the most glorious time. To end my beautiful summer I decided to go back to Hawaii, my happy place.
I used to go to Maui with my family every summer: my dad is a windsurfer and that island is his favorite place on earth. As a grown up I also visited Kauai and got back to Maui a few months ago with my sisters and my best girlfriends, but had never been to the main island, Oahu. It was time to go check it out.
I left with some of my italian and american best friends and we decided to stay at the newly open Four Seasons, which was just a dream: even if it’s a big resort It really has all the comforts and cute spaces of a boutique hotel.
Of course we spent most of the time exploring: the helicopter ride over the whole island was the first and my absolute favourite activity. Our pilot even made an epic landing on the top of the mountain, really Jurassic Park style. The third day our local surfer friend brought us to the best hidden gems in North Shore, the wildest side of the island. First stop was Haleiwa bowls, a must if you, like me, are a great acai lover. Then Waimea Beach, where we dove from cliffs that were at least 8 m tall right into the ocean, such a bliss! On the fourth day we visited Pearl Harbor monument and then went on a private yacht trip all over the coast, swim with the dolphins included. On the fifth day we went on the most beautiful hike: Diamond Head. It only takes 45 mins to reach the top and you get the best/crazy view of the ocean and the coast. After that, another acai bowl to treat us after the exercise: this time at Banan (most beautiful surfer waiter included) We then went to visit Honolulu and Waikiki beach: amazing shopping at stores like Chanel and Louis Vuitton wearing flip flops and your beach dress.
And to end our epic trip we all went skinny dipping in the ocean on the night of full moon, making wishes for the next months. Even though, thinking back at that moment, my biggest wish is to always feel that free and happy, living the life I’ve always dreamt of #Grateful <3
