5 things to do during Milan Fashion Week

Everything is ready for Milan Fashion Week, which is starting tomorrow, September 21, and will carry on until September 26, to be followed by Paris Fashion Week. The city will be packed with journalists, celebrities and fashionistas like every year, but there is more to Milan than just fashion shows, especially for those who cannot access the events that are only open to those who work in the fashion industry. So, what does the city offer during this important week? There’s a lot to do, actually, ranging from exhibitions to cool live music: here are the 5 things you should do this week, according to TBS.

Dream of Prince Charming while visiting Ho Visto Un Re (The King and I), the exhibition hosted at Palazzo Reale in Piazza Duomo, which opens its doors today until October 23. This exhibition showcases work by 9 international artists from different creative areas, bringing together art, theater, music and fashion to create an experimental journey centered around a textile that is not so famous but that has many facets: Alcantara®. The work on display was especially made for this exhibition. Free entry.

You can visit the Fashion Hub Market at the Unicredit Pavillion in Piazza Gae Aulenti, from September 21 to 26, and discover the up and coming brands we will soon have in our closets. The main aim of this project, in its third year, is to let young designers from all over the world get exposure. CNMI selected 14 of them this year, and they will showcase their first prêt-à-porter and accessory collections for Spring Summer 2017 at Milano Moda Donna. It matters a lot to them to be there, and it should matter to us, too!

Enjoy a top-notch dinner at The Botanical Club in Via Tortona 33. Do you want to impress your +1, taking him there? Then this is the place for you, it’s also nice for drinks after dinner. We really recommend the chef’s revisited version of chirashi, with a good cocktail. You won’t regret it.

Get inspired by the women portrayed in Women: new portraits, the exhibition at Fabbrica Orobia, in Via Orobia 15, until October 9, 2016. The display is unmissable for any art and photography lover, and it will be presented by a world-famous photographer: Annie Leibovitz, who let the gallery show a series of wonderful portraits from her collection. This is an experiment she has been carrying out since 1999 and it absolutely deserves your time. Free entry.

Dance while surrounded by Contemporary Art at Le Cannibale, at the Triennale Gardens, on September 25, from 8pm til midnight. Get ready to dance in the large museum gardens, surrounded by Giorgio De Chirico’s work. Come early to make sure you get a spot. Free entry, too!
