To discover everything about it, we met Amanda Bell, global director of brand education and artistry that’s been working with Pixi for over 16 years. Let’s read what she confessed to us:
TBS: Amanda Bell, you’re an amazing make-up artist as well as a great trend hunter: What do you think will be the next trend in the beauty industry?
AMANDA: For me, the next trend will be the marriage of skin preparation and colour, so that people don’t differentiate between skin treats and their foundation and complexion colour, the two should work perfectly together, so the skin looks like the best it can. Spring/Summer 20 is not about things looking necessarily like makeup, it means that when you’re using a formulation that blends perfectly to the skin people compliment you on your skin and you’ll be like “Hey it’s makeup!”

TBS: Will the new Pixi Collection be all about this trend?
AMANDA: Of course! The new collection is all about this because it’s got some amazing ingredients which really work beautifully in skincare as well as colour and we even developed a whole new category! So, at Pixi skincare is called skin treats because we treat the skin, taking the principles of skincare and putting colour treats to them. With colour treats you get the same level of quality and ingredients you’d get with skincare: for example, in our complexion primers, you’ll find liquorice, caffeine, antioxidants from lemon and orange which plump the skin with hydration. After that, your foundation will glide on beautifully!
TBS: Which is your favourite product of this collection?
AMANDA: Honestly, that’s like asking to choose a favourite child! So, to be completely transparent I’m vegan, I’ve been vegan for eleven years and vegan beauty is something I’m so passionate about and there’s the next generation of vegan lipsticks, which are part of the new collection, that are phenomenal! They’re moisturizing, they’re really colour pigmented and their aroma is from pomegranate and orange. They’re so fantastic you could put them on toast!

TBS: If someone had never tried Pixi before, which are the three products a person should have?
AMANDA: First, I have to say that modern life is full-on, we are all living our lives hundred per cent, 24/7, so quick fixings are gold! Then you should have our sheet masks, they’re biodegradable, they contain Vitamin C, caffeine and ferulic acid so they’re really hydrating and instantly make a difference to our skin. The other thing is the Priming Oil, this is really unique and it’s a combination of sunflowers, turmeric and carrot oil so it is anti-inflammatory, brightening and hydrating, it’s like a Harry Potter potion! You just need two drops of it after your skincare or before makeup (or mixing them with your foundation) and it will give you an amazing moisturizing and smoothing effect! Finally, I’m not going to rebel, and I’ll tell you again that you’ll need our vegan Naturellelip lipsticks!
TBS: Do you think that people believe in this new trend of combining skincare and makeup or we’re still not into it that much?
AMANDA: Truth is that sometimes it takes people a little bit to get round to your way of thinking, but I think it would be really silly to think people are not so much more educated about beauty than they were even five years ago. More and more people are really passionate about what they’re using on their skin and they’re really starting to research ingredients and trends. Skincare and colour should be like food for the skin, and people know it yet!
