To go to San Francisco we chose the longest way: could we avoid the feeling of driving on Pacific 1Â (Pacific Coast Highway, Route 1), one of the most famous and spectacular highways of the world? We spent our 25th day of Coast to Coast driving on the coast, stopping to have lunch on the beach in Santa Barbara, walking in the city a bit and getting excited for the views we found on our way. It took us around 8 hours to complete our roadtrip (instead of the 6 hours of the other highway), and we arrived in San Francisco at midnight: I can definitely say It was worth it. It’s hard to find places like that.
For the day I wore the new tex-mex shirt I found in Santa Fe, entirely handmade from a New Mexico designer: after I saw it in the window of a store while I was going to have dinner I immediately fell in love with it. Useless to say I was in that store the next morning to try it on. You probably have already understood the rest of the story 🙂
Per andare a San Francisco abbiamo scelto la strada più lunga: potevamo perderci forse l’emozione di guidare sulla Pacific 1 (la Pacific Coast Highway, Route 1), una delle strade più famose e spettacolari del mondo? Abbiamo passato il nostro 25esimo giorno di Coast to Coast guidando sulla costa, fermandoci a Santa Barbara in spiaggia per pranzo, facendo poi una passeggiata in città e rimanendo estasiati di fronte ai paesaggi che trovavamo sulla nostra via. Ci abbiamo messo circa 8 ore per completare il percorso (invece delle 6 ore di autostrada), arrivando a San Francisco a mezzanotte: vi posso dire che ne è valsa completamente la pena. Difficilmente vi capiterà di guidare per luoghi simili…
Per la giornata ho scelto di indossare la nuova camicetta tex-mex trovata a Santa Fe, interamente cucita a mano da uno stilista del New Mexico: dopo averla vista in vetrina nel negozio ormai chiuso mentre andavamo a cena me ne sono innamorata. Inutile dire che la mattina dopo ero già nello store a provarla. Il resto della storia probabilmente l’avete già capito 🙂
