The ideal 15th of August for me? The one I spent yesterday in Madrid. After the breakfast we went to El Rastro, a giant market where you can find almost everything: I bought a lovely suede and studded jacket and a lot of “jewels”, especially rings. We then went to El Prado area by metro, and we ate delicious wraps just beside the museum with the perfect view, it looked like a postcard. We then visited the museum, which was even better than what i thought: unfortunately it was forbidden to take photos inside, but I can tell you that my favourite works were two of them by El Bosco “the seven sins” and the most famous “Garden of earthly delights”, and also “the triumph of Death” by Peter Bruegel, who took inspiration from the other artist.
We then went to El Retiro, the famous park of Madrid, where we watched the little shows held by the street artists and then had fun (and almost tip over) on a boat trip in the fountain/artificial little lake 😀
To end the day we had dinner in a restaurant in Plaza Mayor, with a lot of Paella Valenciana. And now another day to explore this paradise 🙂
Il ferragosto ideale per i miei gusti? Quello passato ieri qui a Madrid. Dopo la colazione abbiamo fatto un giro a El Rastro, un gigantesco mercato in cui si trovava veramente di tutto: io sono riuscita a scovare una splendida giacca scamosciata piena di borchie per l’autunno e un pò di bigiotteria varia, principalmente anelli. Ci siamo quindi spostati in metro verso la zona di El Prado, mangiando nel bar proprio di fianco al museo delle ottime wrap con una vista mozzafiato, sembrava una cartolina. Abbiamo poi visitato il museo, che si è rivelato superiori alle aspettative che già erano delle migliori: purtroppo non era consentito fare foto all’interno, ma vi posso dire che le mie opere preferite sono state due opere di El Bosco, “i sette peccati capitali” e la più famosa “Il giardino delle delizie”, e per finire “Il trionfo della morte” di Pieter Bruegel il vecchio, che si è ispirato ai lavori del predetto artista.
Ci siamo quindi diretti a El Retiro, il famoso parco di Madrid, dove abbiamo assistito agli spettacoli di artisti di strada e dove poi ci siamo divertiti (e quasi ribaltati) in un giro in barchetta nella fontana/laghetto artificiale 😀
Per concludere la giornata siamo stati a cena in un ristorantino in Plaza Mayor, con tanto di paella Valenciana. Ed ora un’altra giornata per esplorare questo paradiso 🙂
