Went out from the hotel at 10.30 in the morning and came back at 2 at night: this was my third day in the wonderful Istanbul. We started with a cruise on the Bosphorus to have a look at the seabord, and we decided to go down in the asiatic part of Istanbul of Anadolu Kavagi. Once arrived, we decided to have a fish lunch at the harbour, which made the walk towards the ruins of the castle even more difficult. At the top the view was breathtaking. We then took a bus from Anadolu Kavagi to Uskudar, stopping at Kanlica to try the typical yogurt. A dear friend of mine from Istanbul suggested me a good and funny restaurant for dinner, with dancers and belly dancers, called Al Jamal, which, on the guide, was reported in the asiatic area of Kadikoy. From Uskudar we went all 11 in a small van which, scaring us to death for the wild drive, took us to Kadikoy, where we discovered the restaurant was at the opposite side of Istanbul, in the european side (completely wrong address on the guide). We took a night boat which brought us back to the european side, another taxi and we finally made it to the restaurant, which was worth the travel. The strangest thing? Calling the restaurant and tell them we were late because we were in the wrong continent ?

Uscita dall’hotel alle 10.30 del mattino e tornata alle 2 di notte: questa è stata la mia giornata di ieri nella meravigliosa Istanbul. Abbiamo iniziato con una crociera sul Bosforo per ammirare la costa, decidendo di scendere nella parte asiatica di Istanbul di Anadolu Kavagi. Una volta arrivati, prima della scarpinata verso il castello per vedere le rovine abbiamo ben pensato di farci una mangiata di pesce al porto, che ha reso molto più difficile la mezzora di camminata in salita.
In cima però lo spettacolo è stato mozzafiato. Abbiamo poi preso un bus da Anadolu Kavagi fino a Uskudar, facendo una tappa intermedia a Kanlica per provare lo yogurt tipico. Un mio caro amico di Istanbul mi aveva suggerito un ristorante molto buono e divertente per la cena, animato da spettacoli di danzatrici del ventre e ballerini, chiamato Al Jamal, che sulla guida era segnato nella zona asiatica di Kadikoy. Da Uskudar siamo quindi saliti tutti undici su un furgoncino taxi che, oltre a farci prendere colpi di paura per la guida selvaggia, ci ha portato a Kadikoy, dove abbiamo poi scoperto che il ristorante a cui avevamo prenotato era nella parte opposta di Istanbul, in quella europea (indirizzo completamente errato sulla guida). Abbiamo quindi preso un traghetto notturno che ci ha portato indietro nella zona europea, un altro taxi e siamo finalmente arrivati al ristorante, che si è rivelato degno delle nostre aspettative. La cosa più strana? Chiamare il ristorante ed avvertire che avremmo fatto tardi perché avevamo sbagliato continente ?
