Brazil, and mainly Rio de Janeiro is now more than ever been at the center of the world’s attention, thanks to the Summer Olympics starting August 5. Last month Chiara returned to Rio for Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2016 catwalk show, and as always she loved the city. We asked her which were her favorite 5 places…curious? Trust us, they’re a dream!
Aprazivel Restaurante. This place is unmissable if you’re in Rio! It’s in Santa Teresa, one of the most characterful and beautiful areas in the city, it has a breath-taking view and high level cuisine. Eat on hardwood tables while immersed in greenery and enjoy a truly beautiful experience. If you go, Chiara advises you to order fish and heart of palm as a side.
Fasano rooftop. You may have already guessed: Chiara has a weakness for places with a view to die for! And here the beautiful vista is certainly not lacking. Sipping a drink on the terrace, located on the eighth floor, while watching Ipanema beach will give you a sensation you’ve never felt before.
Hiking up Pedra Bonita. Spectacular! Is the way Chiara defined it, using just one word to describe a walk up the mountain. A fairly quick stroll during which if you’re lucky, you could meet some of the cute animals that live there, such as toucans, monkeys and squirrels, who will keep you company during the journey.
Santa Teresa area. The reference point for bohemian locals, and today a must for tourists. Murals, small streets, it’s full of color and unique panoramas. Perhaps the best place to Instagram? The mosaic steps and the yellow tram that’s open on both sides.
Christ the Redeemer. You can’t say you’ve been to Rio without having seen the Christ the Redeemer statue, which at 700m above sea level dominates the city. To get to this point, you need to take a train: once there you’ll have access to one of the most famous symbols of Brazil. Your objective? Take a photo with the statue behind you! 😉
