adidas x Gucci: the collab we’ve been waiting for

Finally, the details of the collaboration that we were waiting for from the Exquisite show, the scenario in which it was presented for the first time. adidas x Gucci is signed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele and definitively combines the symbols of the Maison and those of the iconic sportswear brand. The collection expands the collection of tailored streetwear creations seen on the catwalk with a series of garments inspired strictly by sport and characterized by the same kaleidoscopic aesthetic of the fashion show.

The collection was presented with images inspired by archival catalogs, with a cast of characters in dynamic poses on brightly colored backgrounds and with props close to the sports imagination, photographed by Carlijn Jacobs. And yes, it will remind you so much of The Royal Tenenbaums.

Jogger pants with the adidas Three Stripes on one leg and the green and red Gucci Web tape on the other. Prints combine motifs such as the adidas Clover and the GG monogram, whose synergy enhances both traditions. There are also more formal items, such as high-heeled shoes, suede loafers and silk scarves reinterpreted in a casual way. And conversely, the retro aesthetic takes on a contemporary allure.

The first lookbook precedes the launch of the collection, which will take place on June 7 in selected Gucci stores, Pop-Up adidas x Gucci and online, as well as on the adidas CONFIRMED app.
