Dior unveils its next destination for the Pre-Fall 2023 show

“I am very happy to announce the next Dior Fall 2023 show, which will be held on 30 March in Mumbai. I have worked with Atelier Chanakya for over 20 years, developing a close friendship and working relationship with its directors and founders Nehal and Karishma. The relationship with Karishma, Nehal and all the artisans in their Mumbai ateliers has been fundamental to my personal and professional growth. It was through this relationship with Chanakya that I was able to learn a lot about the handmade embroidery techniques, which are still found in every Indian region, and the unique ability of Atelier Chanakya to bring them into dialogue with the fashion industry. I wanted to celebrate and showcase the incredible knowledge that India offers the international fashion world in the field of embroidery, the craftsmanship of the artisans who continue to work on this craft, and the commitment of Chanakya’s founders to preserving the history and culture of India, represented by each embroidery technique. The opening of the Chanakya School of Craft in 2016 consolidated our mutual commitment to women’s empowerment. Karishma has created a place where women can learn embroidery, a place for exchange, study and empowerment. I was very moved to meet the women at the school and hear first-hand how the school has impacted their lives and helped them on their path to personal and professional independence. It is for these many reasons that I am so proud, excited and incredibly happy to join my dear friends in Mumbai.”

Thus, through a post shared on Instagram, the creative director of Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri, announced the upcoming Pre-Fall 2023 show of the historic French fashion house. Again, this seems to confirm India as the place where many brands seek to expand their narrative. For the designer, each new collection represents the right opportunity to create new links between craftsmanship, tradition and innovation. The next fashion show will take place on 30 March 2023, at the historic site of The Gateway of India, in Mumbai.

This collection will also celebrate the visionary spirit of founder Christian Dior and his successors, who over the years have shown a deep admiration for the cultural richness of this country.

It will be realised with the support of the Directorate of Tourism of the Government of Maharashtra.
