Fashion in Paris: Dior and Saint Laurent open Paris Fashion Week

This week, fashion returns to the French home as some of the world’s top maisons return to Paris to present their Spring Summer 2023 collections. After the success between fashion weeks in New York,

London and Milan, it’s time for Paris Fashion Week. Also known by its original name Semaine des Créateurs de Mode, from yesterday until 5 October, the biggest names in fashion take to the catwalk.

As you know, there are four major fashion weeks, often referred to as the ‘Big 4’: New York, Paris, London and Milan. But what many may not know is that Paris is – chronologically – the home of the first ever fashion week. Since its inception in 1973, the event has been a must-attend event for all fashion lovers in France and beyond.

Organised by the French Fashion Federation, this fashion week includes over 100 fashion shows featuring some of the most important fashion houses. Yesterday, at the opening, the collections of Dior by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello literally lit up Paris.
