Unexpected, unprecedented and surprising FENDI X SKIMS is the capsule collection that has upset the fashion rules of this Fall / Winter 2021. Made under the creative direction of Kim Jones and Kim Kardashian, FENDI X SKIMS is a capsule that blends the aesthetic codes of brands so antithetical to each other and give life to an unexpected and iconic wardrobe for this season’s everyday wear.
“The idea of the collaboration was born when my team and I were sitting around a table in the studio in Rome,” explains Jones. “Suddenly, all the women fell silent and started looking at their phones. I didn’t know what was happening, but they were waiting for the launch of the new SKIMS collection. It was then that I thought: let’s do something together “
The ability of SKIMS, the brand directed by Kim Kardashian, to revolutionize the concept of comfort and elevate it to fashion for everyday wear, have become the fil rouge of a collection in collaboration with a brand, Fendi, an icon of Made In Italy savoir faire and indisputable emblem of luxury. Once again, in fact, the world of luxury and loungewear come together, drawing on the sketches of a Fendi archive collection that was first presented by Karl Lagerfeld in 1979.
Twisted tube tops, pop colors, tight sashes and an unmistakable hybrid logo are the protagonists of tight silhouettes that materialize in velvet designed to support and envelop every body, as is the ethics of SKIMS. A series of neutral shades runs through dresses in regenerated leather, which recall the aesthetics of the Roman maison while clashing with a wardrobe of bold saturated colors. Jersey, knitwear, underwear, socks and recycled nylon complete the clothing line.
