Everyone is crazy for round bags. Or circle bags, or disco bags, too. Or whatever: we’re always talking about the same gorgeous handbags that started trending a couple years ago and that are experiencing a break-out moment in this Fall-Winter 2018, aka the season of mini handbags.
At the latest fashion shows, we saw round bags pretty much everywhere, between a front-row and a street-style pose outside fashion venues. But especially on the runway: if Balmain covered his Disco bag with his logo, Louis Vuitton was inspired by vintage hat trunks for its Petite Boite Chapeau. Besides being a street style fave for its Ark bag, the niche brand Cult Gaia is trending also with the Luna bag, while Moschino, for Spring-Summer 2019, turned its Teddy bear into a straw crossbody bag.
Why are we all so obsessed with round bags? Because they’re the perfect compromise between style and practicality. You can wear them as clutches on your wrist, but they’re also big enough to take you through your busy day. They’re amazing with logo patterns, but also super chic when they’re jewel-embellished. And what about hyper mini round bags, perfect to be worn as necklaces?
Now, the most awaited question: how to wear round bags? You only need to add a creative touch to the shoulder strap: you can wrap a golden chain on your wrist, turning your disco bag into a bangle, or wear it as a fanny pack around your waist. You can always carry it as a crossbody bag, too.
