Moschino: From Archives to Adrian Appiolaza’s Debut with the Fall/Winter 2024-25 Collection

Moschino, as we know, has always been synonymous with boldness and irreverence in the fashion universe, traversing different eras while maintaining its unique and provocative identity. Each creative director who has helmed this historic Maison has left an indelible mark, shaping the brand with their own eccentric and innovative vision.

Let’s start with the founder, Franco Moschino, a visionary genius who revolutionized the very concept of fashion, challenging conventions and celebrating irony and provocation through his creations. His collections were a manifesto of creative freedom, a real rebellion seasoned with a touch of humor and (why not) surrealism.

Subsequently, Rossella Jardini, always close to Moschino, took the reins of the brand after the premature passing of its founder, carrying forward his values and his sharp and playful spirit. With a unique sensibility, she managed to keep the founder’s philosophy alive, reinterpreting it in a fresh and always relevant way, never losing sight of the originality that made this label an icon.

Then came Jeremy Scott, and how could we forget him? With him, Moschino reached increasingly international heights, telling a story of unique eccentricity, mixed between luxury and pop culture. His collections were an explosion of colors and patterns, an explosive mix of irony and glamour that captured the imagination of a new generation of fashionistas.

And yesterday, Adrian Appiolaza’s debut during Milan Fashion Week marks a new chapter in Moschino’s history. The Argentine designer brings with him extensive experience gained at prestigious fashion houses such as Loewe and Chloé, promising to infuse a new creative vision into the collections of the historic Italian fashion house.

“His appointment is a sign of rebirth, an opportunity for Moschino to renew itself while maintaining its provocative essence”.

Some archival images will accompany this journey through the various epochs of Moschino, taking us back in time, showing us the overwhelming creativity of each artistic director and their lasting impact on the fashion industry. And as we prepare to immerse ourselves in the new era, we cannot help but be captivated by such a glorious past.
