Nike x Off-White Rubber Dunk Sneakers

Designed to incorporate ideas from the past into a new era and honor Nike’s legacy of technical innovation, the Nike x Off-White Rubber Dunk is the latest stunning result of a successful collaboration. Two iconic brands, two names that have now become leaders in the sneakers sector, have come together again this time in a new and incredibly sporty guise. Virgil Abloh, creative director of Off-White, underlined his desire to give, together with Nike, “the beginning of something new, something with cultural relevance.”

The Nike X Off-White Rubber Dunk combine elements of the Nike Pegasus and Nike Dunk in the design with a particular emphasis on the Air sole. The Air unit is in fact clearly visible in the heel and guarantees the shoes a high cushioning capacity, as is now tradition in Nike sneakers. The upper is inspired by the technical running shoes of the late 90s and early 2000s and is the perfectly successful combination of performance and fashion attitude. The inevitable element? Obviously, Off-White‘s iconic orange Zip-Tie.

The Rubber Dunk comes in three different colorways with references, also in this case, to different eras of running shoes. The gold directly celebrates Atlanta ’96, the white is a homage to the color combinations of the general versions of the 2000s and the black, well, Abloh says, “A black sneaker is my go-to for everydays’ life.” Introduced in February 2020 and already loved by sneakers freakers around the world, the Nike x Off-White Rubber Dunk will be launched starting October 1st in adult and child sizes on SNKRS, nike.com and at selected retailers.
