Worn by every style icon and perfect allies for the fall season, oversized blazers are the go-to item we don’t want to do without. Apparently stolen from the father’s wardrobe (it is no coincidence that many brands have nicknamed them dad blazers), oversized blazers have a perfect fit for every occasion and have been filling the proposals of the most loved brands for some seasons now. Launched by Armani around the 80s for the first time in women’s fashion proposals, the oversize blazer is in fact back to being talked about: let’s think of the iconic Jacquemus show of the last SS 20 in Provence, to capture the attention of the public it was most of all an oversized fuchsia blazer (do you remember it?), which in a short time became the object of desire of the most imitated fashion icons. But we also think of Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Alexandre Vauthier who have abandoned the snug and hourglass fit to be enchanted by the timeless beauty of the oversized blazer.
But which ones to choose? They exist with 80s square shoulder straps for the most elegant and chic looks but also in boxy style with soft shoulders and single button for casual and less sophisticated outfits. And be careful not to let the rumors scare you, it is not true that the oversized blazer does not suit everyone, you have to pay attention to the length! Choose the cropped version blazer if you are not particularly tall, otherwise dare with maxi models like our Chiara Ferragni does.
