The renowned designer Thom Browne, known for his unique vision in the fashion system, has recently expanded his business, going beyond fashion—indeed, Browne is acquiring several historic homes. After the restoration of the 1920s Anne Vanderbilt house in Sutton Place, New York City, the designer and his partner Andrew Bolton have acquired Teviotdale, a colonial home in the picturesque Hudson River Valley.
It seems that the emblematic Georgian/Federal style of this 1773 residence inspired Thom Browne for the creation of his Pre/Fall 2024 collection. The globally iconic designer presented a magical collection of tailored garments. From traditional tweed to tartan inspired by past school uniforms, to roses as precious details. Not only unprecedented glam, but this collection also includes pieces with a decidedly sporty soul, perfect for day-to-day wear.
Among the various color nuances, Thom Browne’s universe appears extraordinarily understandable. The colors are essential and delicate but embellished with more intense (at times dark) touches and bold originality. Accessories include briefcases, caps, and shoulder-strap bags, in addition to the Maison’s timeless classics.
Now, we just have to wait for February 14, when Thom Browne will present the entire Fall/Winter 2024 collection in New York (his hometown).
