Today Is The Day: Money Heist 5

2000 minutes of action and two robberies later, Money Heist 5 Vol. 1 is finally out! After more than a year of waiting, the red suits are back to keep the millions of fans of the series glued to the screens for 5 unmissable episodes.

Yes, because a long-awaited season like the fifth could only leave the series addicted bitter tasted, breaking into two volumes. The first, released today 3 September 2021, will consist of 5 episodes that pick up the narrative from where it was left off. Wait! Where had it been left from?

Filming for the red suits over the years has been done in more than 300 locations in 7 different countries including Spain, Thailand, Denmark, Panama, Portugal, Italy, and the UK. Over the course of the 41 episodes, the gang produced 6,000 gold bars and printed a million banknotes to rain over the skies of Madrid, constituting a loot defended tooth and nail by 275 different weapons. The loot, however, is still all in the hands of the red suits who, left in command of Tokyo (Ùrsula Corberò) and Rio (Miguel Herrán) try by all means to make the gang escape from the now besieged bank of Spain.

The end of the fourth chapter had seen the balance of the irreproachable Professor waver after the discovery of the alleged death of his girlfriend Lisbon; leaving the gang alone to manage the most feared siege from the very first heist. The gang has now been locked up in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They managed to save Lisbon, but the darkest moment comes after losing one of their own. The professor was captured by Sierra and, for the first time, he has no escape plan. Just when it seems like nothing can get any worse, a far more powerful enemy than any we’ve faced so far enters the scene: the army. The end of the biggest heist in history is approaching and what started as a robbery is slowly turning into a real war.

Spoilers are not allowed for those who in these few hours from the release had not yet managed to enjoy all 5 new episodes, but we can tell you that there will be some new entries to fight this war! Among the new entries, the long-awaited son of Berlin, Rafael, of whom the character had spoken already from the first season in a confession to his friend Rio; and Sagasta, the Commander of the Special Forces of the Spanish Army, a leader born cold and ruthless.
