In the last few days the world of fashion talks only about NY, and if we want to be inspired we just think of Patti Smith. She was a simple human being who possessed an artistic soul when she moved to NY in the early 70’s, creating a strong identity that makes her an iconic reference in music, art and fashion. In her book Just Kids (2010) she connects the beginning of her love story with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, her companion at the time, recounting their bohemian days in New York, to their adventures at the famous Chelsea Hotel where they lived throughout the 70’s, and where she moved back to in the 90’s, alone this time, calling it home.
