The 5 most interesting fashion books out now!

Senza titolo-LLOIf there’s one thing we love here at TBS is staying up to date on the latest releases in fashion books. Whether it’s only images, or a text telling the story of a maison doesn’t really matter — we just absolutely want them on our shelf. And if you add to our natural curiosity the fact that summer, our favorite time to read and relax, is coming… It’s just perfect, full circle! On this note, here are 5 newly released fashion books we would love to read this season.

Paul Smith’s Cycling Scrapbook (Thames & Hudson)
Paul Smith’s Cycling Scrapbook is, rather than a book about a man’s enthusiasm for cycling, an introduction to how people, stories and the mystique around cycling have influenced one of the most successful people in the world of design. This book will be wonderfully inspirational for cyclists, designers and fashionistas.

Gisele. Gisele Bündchen (Taschen)
This is the slimmed-down version of the book that was released last year, and sold out in a flash despite its cost: 700 US dollars. This photo book tells the story and collects all of the most significant moments of Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen’s career, and it will be released on May 10. You will find her most famous shots here, photos taken by some of the most famous photographers worldwide, among which are Steven Meisel, Mario Testino, Peter Lindbergh, David LaChapelle e Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.

Advanced Style: Older & Wiser. By Ari Seth Cohen
Its author, Ari Seth Cohen, is a fashion world visionary and his blog is one of the most famous and most widely read in the world. His genius idea was to simply give a voice to women who might not be young anymore, but who are absolutely elegant and trendy. In this new version, the book collects unreleased old images, and more recent ones, featuring the coolest over-50-year-old women in the world.

Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology
The catalog of the recently inaugurated MET exhibition in New York tells the story of the relationship between fashion and technology, and how the latter changed the world of fashion. Together with photos of fashion creations, you will find interviews with famous, avant-garde designers like Sarah Burton, Karl Lagerfeld and Miuccia Prada, discussing how technology can play a role in blurring the line between haute couture and prêt-à- porter. An utterly fascinating and interesting book.

Vogue 100: A Century of Style
Vogue British is turning 100, and to rightfully honor this, it’s publishing a book celebrating its history and its most important moments decade after decade, with essays, illustrations and photos that are part of the history of 20th century fashion. It’s a unique work that should sit on the bookshelf of any fashionista!
