The French original Netflix series premiered worldwide on January 8, 2021 and has already been declared a success. Literally to devour (the first season consists of only 5 episodes) Lupin is the series, inspired by the adventures of the most famous gentleman thief in literature, which tells the adventures of a modern-day Arsène Lupin. Set in a dark and silent Paris, Lupin created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan, tells of the life of Assane Diop, the son of a Senegalese immigrant in the service of the wealthy Pellegrini family, who committed suicide in prison following an unjust sentence. The story begins 25 years after the incident, in which an adult Assane decides to avenge his father’s death by drawing inspiration from the adventures of his favorite literary character. Unlike the events narrated by the pen of Maurice Leblanc, forget in fact the classic Lupin in a tuxedo and tie, the Lupin played by Omar Sy is a gentleman who organizes a coup in the Louvre. The target? That of stealing a splendid necklace worth 20 million.
