The world of cosmetics is much more vast and varied than it seems. As much as we get lost in the Sephora lanes between brands and products of all kinds, there is always something new to know and test. However, for the true beauty addicts, the cosmetic brands to draw from are not limited to national borders and those available in Italian stores, and they are always looking for the latest find from abroad.
Among the most desired brands, in the first place there is certainly Kylie Cosmetics, which was recently joined by Kylie Skin. A complete line with eye shadow palettes, highlighters, and the famous lip kits with lip pencil and liquid lipstick. Loved by celebs and make-up artists, the brand has the advantage of having an excellent value for money, which is why the beauty community has literally gone mad.
They are followed by the cosmetics of KKW Beauty, Kim Kardashian’s brand, which exploited the popularity of her looks (made by make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic) to create a line of products with minimal packaging and iconic colors, ranging from super nude shades to bright tones like the electric blue eyeshadow, gone sold-out in a few hours.
For those who want a highly professional make-up, there are two unmissable lines but unfortunately also not available in Italy: Charlotte Tilbury and Pat McGrath. The two make-up artists are industry celebrities, and since they created their brands, all their products have become must-haves. Charlotte Tilbury, the official make-up artist of Victoria’s Secret, creates bright cosmetics, with mainly nude tones, and focuses on the exaltation of natural beauty.
On the contrary, Pat McGrath is fanciful and original like her products, extremely colourful, with intense and super pigmented shades, and a go-go of glitter (and with the occasional use of feathers instead of false eyelashes as for the Valentino haute couture show SS 19).
However, cosmetics are not just make-up, but also skincare. Skincare has moisturizers, serums, tonics and much more at its disposal, but new ingredients and special formulas always come out. Among the brands most desired by the addicts are Glossier, now an Instagram legend thanks to a super graphic packaging and above all to the mega video reviews that promote it with full marks, and Herbivore Botanicals, an Australian brand that makes cosmetics with rose quartz powder and ingredients 100% natural.
There is nothing to say, the list of must-haves is long, but often the distances, the waits and the shipping costs prevent the removal of new cosmetics from it. The only thing to do is to keep our fingers crossed and hope to see them soon in Italy too.
