A little beauty guide to New York

Last season, we took you on a beauty break to Paris. This year, it’s time to go to the city that never sleeps! Ready to dive into crazy New York City life? This time, beauty will be at the center of your trip.

Relax. As always, we start by recommending places to go and spend some of the most relaxing nights of your life. There are three locations you shouldn’t miss, all with a spa, naturally. The first flag on our map is the Carlysle: this is where you will find the Sisley spa, something that fans of the brand really can’t miss, since it offers wonderful phyto-aromatic treatments. The second door we open is the at Waldorf Astoria: this is where the amazing Guerlain spa is located, the ideal place for you if you would like to try out a new makeup look after your facial treatment. Last but not least, we also recommend going to the Baccarat, to visit the first La Mer spa. Our tip here is to go for the Body 90-minute treatment, it will be like being born again!

Shopping. There is really something for everyone. For us, as European shoppers, Sephora is at the top of the list: the American stores are just incomparably better. Beware of the checkout area, because that is the part of the store where mini formats and limited editions of best selling products are on — you might get carried away and only realize that when you get your bill! If you ever manage to leave Sephora, the next stop should be the department store beauty halls at Saks, Macy’s, Bloomingdales and so on. They have a wonderful brand selection and you will feel like you are strolling around wonderland. Another place we really like is the Birchbox store, brought to you by the Birchbox beauty boxes… Which happen to be some of our favorites. You can buy your box here, and you can also attend lots of beauty-related fun workshops.

The extra tip: a manicure at Paintbox Nails is definitely on our list. We could spend hours looking at their Instagram account. Their minimalist, yet sophisticated designs are absolutely wonderful! If you get to try it before we do, you should really let us know how it is!
