“Alexa switch off the lights”, “Alexa put One Kiss by Dua Lipa on”…and in a while lights are off and music invades the house. Do your neighbours complain about it? “Alexa keep it down”. It seemed to be something so far from us but, definitively for everyone, the moment when our houses dialogue with us has come. Where? At House In A Box, the newest member of the Amazon home.
We visited today, in the middle of the Design Week, the Milanese Amazon’s headquarter to see the first stereotypes of two apartments completely furnished with online purchased products on Amazon.it. As we expected, technology has been the silver thread of the whole experience: as soon as we arrived at the entrance, to welcome us, there was the Infinity mirror which is a mirror that makes it possible to see our image reflected a thousand times…in case we missed some details of our outfits before going out!
Raising our heads to the ceilings, some electric blue neon lights led us to discover two areas: in particular there were two smart apartment typologies, the first thought for the students and the second for more high-end customers. Both however, in addition to the domotica and other technological services provided by Amazon like Alexa (that is able through the voice command to switch the washing machine on after having told us how to clean our clothes), have in common a furniture that has been entirely purchased online. HOW? Each product has a SmileCode that makes us shop our fav products directly from the website. But that’s not all!
The finish of both the apartments are high quality and sophisticated and the style is super young and trendy (we confess that we took a break on one of the Movian collection armchair and it was super comfy!) After having chosen the products that we liked the most, we tested Discover to understand which ones to choose according to our style and then we have displayed them in the room with our smartphones thanks to the Augmented Reality. In other words, we can say that it has been a very incredible experience of a project that wants to change our way of living our houses, comfortably and above all digitally!
