New York: Top 10 Rooftop Bars

Here we are! The New York Fashion Week, officially opening the Fashion Month, has just started and we cannot wait to find out next summer’s trends. We are in the Big Apple to follow closely everything that goes on during this spectacular month for the city, which we’ll try to enjoy between shows. And what best way to take a break than choosing a place that allows us to enjoy a breathtaking view? Yes, New York seen from above is truly extraordinary! So, here is our top 10 with our favorite rooftop bars. See you there!

Bar Hugo (525 Greenwich Street). At the top floor of Hotel Hugo, in Soho, this bar offers a 360-degree view of the city…the Hudson River, and the Statue of Liberty will be your backdrop while enjoying a cocktail. This new spot, opened just a year ago and is perfect if you are trying to impress someone ;). The view is amazing, even if you decide to sit inside, making it perfect for the arrival of the cold weather!

Met Museum – Roof Garden Café e Martini Bar (1000 Fifth Ave., New York, NY 10028 (at 82nd St.). This rooftop at the 5th floor of the museum is open only during the summer months until October, so hurry!  A view on Manhattan, light buffet + cocktail, it’s a to go spot after a cultural afternoon.

Bookmarks (299 Madison Ave., New York, NY 10017). Book lovers cannot miss it. The rooftop bar over Marc Jacobs’ bookstore is super casual and located right downtown, making it an ideal place for a break during the day. The highlight? Its menu with cocktails inspired by literature and by the city’s most beautiful spots.

Gallow Green (542 W 27th St, New York, NY 10001). Located in the Chelsea district, is surrounded by plants and little trees that will make you feel like you are in the middle of a garden with an even more magic atmosphere in the evening when all the small lights illuminate the rooftop. Check their schedule…some nights you can even catch live jazz music!

Le Bain at The Standard (Washington St., New York, NY 10014 (at 13th St.). You can’t think of a New York visit without trying the cocktail hour at Le Bain! Wonderful grass and design chairs, creperie and even a pool…a really amazing place!

Press Lounge (653 11th Ave, New York, NY 10036). It’s considered one of the world’s most beautiful rooftop bars: the view is on  Manhattan, the environment is hong and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing…well…the best choice after a stressful day! Go there at sunset, when the sun hides among the skyscrapers.

Night of Joy (667 Lorimer St, New York, NY). This cocktail bar features a slightly hipster style and mixes vintage and street influences. With wrought-iron and hemp tables and chairs and graffiti on the walls, this is an ideal spot for slow food enthusiasts. Drinks are made using the herbs grown in the bar’s garden!

Upstairs at The Kimberly (145 E. 50th St., New York, NY 10022 (near Third Ave.) – Featuring an elegant and sophisticated style, with wooden floors and a view that overlooks the wonderful Chrysler Building, this bar offers an evening light menu and creative house drinks.

Ava Lounge (210 W 55th Street, New York City, NY) – Right on rooftop of the Dream Hotel, it will make you feel like you are dominating the whole city while sipping on your favorite drink. It will make your jaw drop!

Mad46 (45 E 45th St., New York, NY 10017 (near Madison Ave.). The right spot for a break if you happen to be in Midtown. On the top floor of the Roosevelt Hotel, the view is just as spectacular.
