Dior creates a summer dream made of Toile de Jouy presenting the Riviera 2019 collection in Forte dei Marmi on May 30th. Following the creative line inaugurated by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Dior capsule collection represents the union between the parisian chic tradition of monsieur Christian Dior with the taste of holidays in Monaco next to Grace Kelly, and the Italian couture allure made of days spent on the coasts of Versilia.
Soft caftans and broad sarongs are filled with prints of Toile de Jouy, a classic motif from the French tradition dating back to the 18th century that, instead of ladies and shepherds, is made aggressive and modern by jungle drawings with tigers and tropical plants.
Next to it, a swimwear line with a design inspired by the costumes of Russian ballet, with a close-fitting silhouette that enhances the shapes of femininity, to be combined with light skirts, echoes of delicate tutus. For the evening, double chrome striped cotton sweaters: above, the inscription J’Adior Forte dei Marmi.
The accessory continues the charm of Dioriviera: the book tote replace the straw bags, from the street style we move to the beach, with the possibility of customization in the store (from 1 to 15 July) at Fiacchini, iconic boutique in Via IV Novembre.
There is the slipper, the beach towel, but above all there is the jewel, designed by Dior jewellery designer Victoire de Castellane, which re-proposes the Rose des Vents collection, extolling new discoveries, an ocean of possibilities: a symbol that contains the essence of the journey.
Guests of Dior, Valentina Ferragni, a white body with a heart-shaped neckline and a golden skirt full of sequins that turn into a red-and-white caftan, and Veronica Ferraro, who replaces a striped sweater with a swimsuit in Toile de Jouy.
