Discover Julien Dossena’s new Resort 2024 collection for Rabanne

The fashion system, as we know, is constantly evolving, always ready to explore new worlds and reinterpret the heritage of the past. This is the strength that characterizes the entire industry. Thus, even in the universe of Paco Rabanne – now known simply as Rabanne – the creative genius of the creative director (since 2014), Julien Dossena, comes to life. Today, we will tell you about his new vision for the Resort 2024 collection, a scenario made of oxymorons and pleasant contrasts.

Dossena began his studies at the École Superieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Paris and later at La Cambre in Brussels, where he found inspiration in the work of Martin Margiela and Dries Van Noten. From his entry into Paco Rabanne, Dossena has made a mark, proposing an aesthetic capable of amplifying an already very strong message.

The new Resort collection of this renowned fashion Maison, immortalized with the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris as a backdrop, blends elements from the 1930s with a touch of contemporary modernity, using geometries, shapes, and textures emblematic of the historical brand. Then, Rabanne’s lookbook moves to the Trocadero setting, where Dossena chooses to narrate an unprecedented luxury made of fringes, bold fabrics, and vintage details, decidedly edgy.

An essential element is the iconic metal mesh, starring in some dresses (and more). And furthermore: studs, metallic embroideries, and other sparkling details. En effet, in this collection, the aesthetic centrality is given by an irresistible unprecedented brilliance.

“All of this finds its perfect synthesis in the concept of grunge.”

SOME LOOKS FROM JULIEN DOSSENA X RABANNE’S NEW RESORT COLLECTION

The concept of grunge helps us fully understand the theme and spirit of this collection. Originally born in the music world in the ’80s and ’90s, grunge is an unconventional and non-conformist style. It embraces a disheveled appearance, rebellious spirit, and extreme naturalness.

In the context of this Rabanne Resort collection, grunge is reinterpreted and applied to luxury. All of this becomes an interpretative key to appreciate diversity and innovation, bridging the gap between past and present while carrying on the heritage of Paco Rabanne in a fresh, authentic, and original way.
