There’s no doubt 2018 has been the year of the logos‘ come back. Only a few years ago, it was considered the tackiest detail on dresses and accessories. Actually, the Nineties and the first 2000s we experienced a kind of hangover of logos: at the end, we couldn’t stand to see them!
For years, we’ve seen them printed on canvas and plastic bags, on flats and boots. We were so afraid of logos that we couldn’t help but run away every time we saw two letters crossing each other! Now, there’s nothing better than a capital letter logo, printed on a T-shirt, on a bag or on a total look.
What makes logos fashionable again? Undoubtedly, some brands understood their power in terms of image and communication, and they worked on them, adding some cool contemporary vibes. How? Mocking them, for example changing their spelling, or taking some inspirations from the past.
There have been some brilliant ideas, like the Gucci-Guccy thing from Resort 2018 collection or the latest collaboration between Fendi and Fila, in which the logos of these two brands, so different one to another, melt into something unique. It’s not strange that the logo trend was lead by some sportswear brands that gained their fame in the Nineties, such as Fila, Sergio Tacchini, Ellesse, and Kappa, bringing their famous logos to younger generations.
