Pleated skirts, a few years ago, were considered old-fashioned. Prada changed everything: the brand took them to the catwalk for Spring-Summer 2012 collection, with an explosion of graphic prints and embroideries. Since then, pleated skirts are a real must-have and their awareness is stronger than ever. If we saw them on so many looks in the last couple of years, we must say thank you to Giovanna Battaglia, better known on Instagram as Bat Gio, who drove street-style photographers crazy with her rainbow pleated skirts, and Olivia Palermo: there must be an entire area dedicated to them in her walk-in-closet!
