I’m sure you also had this before – a week packed with stuff to do, and no time to accomplish anything, really. You call your favorite nail salon to make an appointment, and they’re full until the end of the month! Since no one likes having uncared for nails, we decided to learn the art of manicure ourselves, to be ready in case of emergencies, and to go on holiday with no worries whatsoever.
The first step is to make sure that you’ve got everything you need: tools, top coat, base and polish. To make things easier for you, we selected all of these products and collected them in the gallery: all the products you shouldn’t miss, as well as our favorite polish colors.
1. Relax and don’t expect yourself to give yourself the best mani ever. If you make any mistakes, they can probably be fixed, the one nail you messed up can be done again. The more you practice, the better you will become, until you’ll be home manicure black belts!
2. If you don’t find this so easy, don’t go overboard with colors! Use a neutral shade so you can have nicely cared for hands, and less problems when the varnish starts breaking. If you don’t want to go neutral, then go for fun! Home manicure is the perfect time to play with stickers, nail art, and multicolor patches. If you don’t get daring now, when will you? 😉
3. Cuticles, cuticles, cuticles: they’re the only part of the treatment you need to be really careful with, since they will make a difference in the way your hands will look like. Whatever happens, don’t cut them! Just push them away from the nail bed, to make space for polish.
