Ponytails are certainly the most trendy hairstyles for the 2015 winter season, and the latest fashion shows prove it. There are infinite ways to style a tail and this year the worlds most famous hairstylists, like Guido Palau and Eugene Souleiman, invented some outstanding and roundly prised hairdos for this timeless classic.
The High Ponytail. Very tight and strictly fixed on a side: Prada made a gravity-defying look that was elegant, fresh and current thanks also to the house’s glittering barrettes and colourful plastic hair pins that secured the look while giving it a really precious touch. An elegance that we saw also on Victoria Beckham’s runway: here Guido Palau chose a simple yet very natural and chic chignon with a little tail sticking out from the back, a nice, healthy, shining and smooth look.
The Low Ponytail. Dior’s show was themed by sophisticated side ponytails, smoothed to one side, extremely long and draped over each model’s shoulder. Redken’s hairstylist opted for a super natural look for Boss; while Y-3 shocked us with a relentless futuristic ponytail.
The Pony & Bun. A hairdo that even Chiara picked for NYFW and that Michael Costello brought on the catwalk, with hairstylist Linh Nguyen, embracing the Japanese minimalism theme they chose with an extreme top knot, structured low pony and loose front locks. The bun walked also on Marc Jacobs’ runway, a tight front knot, a sort of on-the-top chignon.
