We are almost there, the 95th Academy Awards will come to life next March 12. Oscar night,it is known, is one of the most anticipated events of the year around the world. During this famous event entirely dedicated to the world of cinema, the best films, actors, actresses and professionals are awarded. Obv again this year the awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles.
This will be the first year under the leadership of Academy CEO Bill Kramer, who has assumed the role as of July 2022, after heading the Academy Museum. After last year’s ceremony, produced by Will Packer and hosted by the trio of Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall, which caused much talk mainly because of Will Smith’s (perhaps inappropriate) goliardic gesture, this year’s focus is on a more elegant event centered primarily on the celebration of film.
During the evening, it is good to remember that each winning film is selected by a jury composed of members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, an organization of film technicians. The main evaluation criteria are direction, screenplay, acting, cinematography and soundtrack. The awards ceremony will be presented by Jimmy Kimmel, including live performances and tributes to the big names of the film universe.
Where will it be possible to follow Oscar night?
Also this year on Sky Cinema it will be possible to follow the 95th Academy Awards ceremony live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, obv also streaming on NOW. Then, to best celebrate this highly anticipated event, the best of Oscar cinematography will be broadcast until Friday, March 17 on Sky Cinema Collection (channel 303) – which for the occasion becomes Sky Cinema Oscar, a channel entirely dedicated to the films awarded with the most coveted statuette ever.
In addition, also available on Sky are already some of this year’s nominated films: from ELVIS, nominated for eight awards including best picture, best lead actor with Austin Butler, best editing, best set design, best cinematography, best costumes, best sound, and best makeup and hairstyles; through THE BATMAN, nominated for best visual effects, best sound, and best makeup and hairstyles; then LADY HARRIS GOES TO PARIS, nominated for best costumes.
