UNCONVENTIONAL FRIDAYS: MOVIE NIGHT – THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA

In these days of detox from summer, Friday night could also arrogate itself the right of becoming an unconventional evening! No parties, dinner or endless happy hours so why saying no to a perfect Netflix and Chill mood? Get your sofa and snacks ready (unconventional…but make it cheat) and enjoy some of our fav movies ever. For this Friday the choice fell on a great classic that, let’s face it, we can never get tired of: The Devil Wears Prada

It feels like yesterday when watching it for the first time, we used to dream about walking in the New York streets with our American coffees in hand and a beautiful pair of Manolo at our feet but actually…it was 13 years ago! (Can you believe it?!) We know well you know the plot by heart because who has never dreamed of being Andy for a day? But let us refresh our memory together and, for the black sheep that have never watched it, here’s a little anticipation of one of the most loved fashion movies:

The action takes place in New York and it’s an explicit recall to the glossy world of Vogue USA and its editor in chief Anna Wintour. In the movie, the magazine will be called Runway and its editor Miranda Priestly. The protagonist is Andy Sachs, a graduated girl that is looking for a job in the big apple. With many years of journalism studies in the CV, Andy wants to find her chance of a lifetime in New York and what better occasion than a role as the second personal assistant of Miranda Priestly?

Even though fashion is not her thing, Andy is able with her studies to conquer Miranda’s sense of trust, who hires her for the most eligible job among all New York girls. In no time she finds herself absorbed by her job and by this completely new fashion universe. The jokes won’t be missed and the ironic moments too, but be careful: The Devil Wears Prada wants to be footage of the truest side of the New York fashion scene, so big laughter but also great reflection points.

The Devil Wears Prada doesn’t only tell the story of Andy’s career, it tells how certain job could influence every aspect of our lives: family, love, friendship and the psychological sphere. But it also makes us dream: the haute couture gowns, the fashion shootings, the Paris Fashion Week…so no spoiler, let’s watch it again together and for those who have never seen it be sure you won’t regret it because “ Everybody wants this, everybody wants to be us
